Well Im supposed to give a speech at my friends wedding, and I have a small speech to give, but I need some good points of what NOT to do when public speaking.

Hopefully I can get maybe the top 20 from everyone that I can jot down in my mind.

Thank you all <3

Don't insult people, don't mumble, don't look down too much (have the thing somewhat memorized), and the obvious- don't burp, f*rt, pick your nose, your teeth, or your butt!!

Look at the couple, smile, speak clearly and happily/proudly.
Stick to the point- short 'n sweet.

Good luck!

Practice what you are going to say in front of a few friends and/or family members as well as in front of a mirror. Don't fidget. Try to remain calm because then chances are greater that you'll do just fine. Drink enough water to be hydrated but not so much that you will have to go during the speech. In fact, try to use the facilities in advance of the speech if you can. It's better if you have it memorized so that you don't have to read it but some have their speeches on small card(s) with them just in case. Good luck.

Don't figet, don't say "um" and "ah" or other verbal garbage.

DO: speak clearly and slowing, use a good opening line to get people's attention, dress in a way that makes you feel comfortable.
And most importantly, PRACTICE in front of a mirror until you feel completely comfortable.

Don't pick your nose or scratch any part of your anatomy below the waist (or under your bosoms). If you're being videotaped and there's separate microphone, make sure you don't hold the mike so high people can't see your face.

Let's see...a speech at a wedding.....

Don't speak while intoxicated.
Don't mention embarassing/hurtful things about the bride/groom.
Keep it thought provoking, short, and sweet.

Don't pick your nose.
Don't pick your butt.
Stick only with positive things to say, leave out anything remotely negative.
Speak slowly and clearly, don't hurry through what you are saying.
Keep it entirely about the bride and groom, it is their day, not anyone else's.
