Regardless of whether or not you agree with the war, I think it's still important to support our troops. They risk their lives on a daily basis to protect the freedoms that many of us take for granted. So, I'm curious to see what you do to show your support.
I've sent care packages. I stop every person in uniform I see, just to thank them - I frequent the DFW airport, so that's not an easy task if you've ever been there.....thank goodness for long layovers and flight delays, LOL!
I offer to buy coffee, lunch, etc for people in uniforms.
They all tell me they don't hear many people thanking them - I want to do as much as possible. Any new ideas for me?
If you're looking to insult the war or our troops, don't bother, nobody wants to hear you.

My husband is in the military and he loves to get care packages when he deploys. I also send them to the single guys he works with too!
They love it!
Sooo, you are on the right track.
It's people like you that makes them feel even better about what they do.
I thank YOU for helping us keep them at their best!

Don't know if you've tried it, but giving out phone cards... even the little $5 ones.
Banners, big or little, that say "Thanks!"
Might sound weird, but one of the biggest responses in the surveys over here was ...

human contact.... a hug... handshake.. pat on the back!
It's a form of appreciation that is long overdue from being overseas.

Thank you cards... we would pass out cards to people coming home .... even if they didn't work with my hubby's unit.

Well, like I said... you're already on the right track... thank you again for being you.

Take care!

Go Marines!!

I joined the military recently. I think the best way to show your support is by lending a helping hand. Even if you are like me and don't belive in the Iraq war.

I think it's great that you make the extra effort to be respectful to our military. A simple "thank you" or a drink goes a long way!

I live near a military base. Anyone I see in uniform at a restaurant gets lunch on me, and anyone active duty that hires me gets half price.

THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. I do not know what to do and do nothing, but I'm sure there are others like me who feel they could be doing something. Start a web site or emails. Mich. do you know where I can look? I would put my email in here but do not now if it is allowed.
Again... Thank You!

My friend is a chief in the Navy and Lowes gave him 10% off his $400 purchase. So we took the $40 and went to lunch.
