Sylar!! I missed you so after you died in the season finally!!!!!
^_^
It doesn't have to be Christian to be great, but Christians think it does because to them everything else that doesn't have to do w/ their religion is bad/evil/unholy and what have you.

Well....look at what has happened to the youth of America ever since Madeline Murray got her way. Do we really NEED further examples?
Look at all of the violence and disrespectful, self-centered behavior being glorified by the media on tv and in movies today. The U.S. is either a JOKE to, or a target of outrage for other countries because of this sort of thing! Our children are soaking this junk up like sponges and it IS affecting their behavior / attitudes whether some are willing to admit it or not. 50 years ago, divorce was practically unheard of; today, divorce is the norm - IF there was ever a marriage to begin with! The U.S. used to be a highly respected nation when Christianity was given the respect it was due and God was honored in the schools and throughout the nation.
The government does not need to FORCE Christianity on anybody; however, it was obviously a MISTAKE to remove God (biblical teachings) from our public schools. The U.S. has since then become even more corrupt than anybody had ever imagined was possible, then people pretend to be SHOCKED that it has gotten so corrupt! Don't believe me? Check out the politicians voted into office - and the people who complain about how corrupt the politicians are - and the countries who view the U.S. with such contempt...
Proverbs 1:23-28 If you had responded to my rebuke,
I would have poured out my heart to you
and made my thoughts known to you.
But since you rejected me when I called
and no one gave heed when I stretched out my hand,
since you ignored all my advice
and would not accept my rebuke,
I in turn will laugh at your disaster;
I will mock when calamity overtakes you-
when calamity overtakes you like a storm,
when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind,
when distress and trouble overwhelm you.
Then they will call to me but I will not answer;
they will look for me but will not find me.
Psalm 53:1-3
The fool says in his heart,
"There is no God."
They are corrupt, and their ways are vile;
there is no one who does good.
God looks down from heaven
on the sons of men
to see if there are any who understand,
any who seek God.
Everyone has turned away,
they have together become corrupt;
there is no one who does good,
not even one.
Psalm 33:11-12
But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever,
the purposes of his heart through all generations.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD,
the people he chose for his inheritance.

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
According to George Docherty, what has made the United States both unique and strong was her sense of being the nation that Lincoln described: a nation "under God."
These words [“under God”] will remind Americans that despite our great physical strength we must remain humble. They will help us to keep constantly in our minds and hearts the spiritual and moral principles which alone give dignity to man, and upon which our way of life is founded.

Forgive me but from my observation...The proof is in the pudding. We profess to be a Christian nation "One Nation under God" and although we have our hang ups look at how blessed we are compared to the other nations.

Great is the least of Great->Greater->Greatest.
As is Law Faith least of Faith->Hope->Charity.
Why oh why would America wanna be "Great"?
"Great" Tribulation?? Babylon the "Great"??
Moses' Law was a "Great Terror"-ist: Dt 34:12
Salvation is through Jesus->Christ->God-ward.
Starting at Jesus is Great, but still deadly Law.
Going on to Christ is "greater", but not greatest.
Only the "greatest" of "three" things never faileth.
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus->Christ with you->all. Amen.

When our forefathers came to this country,they made it one nation under God.God blessed this country.However,now we have carnal man that is trying to blot the name of God out of everything,if you think this generation is evil,let God remove His hand of grace.A nation without God cannot prevail.We just celebrated Memorial Day.How many soldiers fought and died to protect our freedom to worship God?

America should, to be great, follow some Christian values, such as loving your neighbor as yourself. Then again, these values are found in other religions and by people who practice no religion as well.

In the bible, it is written, "Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain." This is the main reason that we believe this.

The word "great" is pretty vague. America will have a much greater chance to progress if it is secular.
