I don't understand either. I would gladly pay a tax to ensure the border security and laws we presently had on the books were enforced. The illegals would leave on their own, we wouldn't need to deport them.

To make this simple it's like this.
The U.S. Is a Business first and foremost. Making money is what the government is about so if that means letting people in to do jobs americans won't do or want an unbelieveible amount of money to do, then so be
despite what the media might have you believe that the illegals are costing us money is truly absurd. The U.S. Government will make 5 times more money on these people than it will cost them. If it was such a bad thing and costing the Government drastic amounts of money trust me they would act like any other business and handle the problem.
And The Hispanic Language Has Been In this part of the world way longer than english has. And first english is not an easy language to learn and with these people working multiple jobs and rasing children when would they have time and second it cost money to take english speaking classes they are not free.
And what is so bad abou these people in the first place, look at all they do for the the state and city.
Who do you think builds the highways, and cleans up the city. No they don't FILE TAXES but they pay taxes when ever they buy something and that they do a lot of. So Basically The U.S. is getting a lot of money "under the table" from illegal immigrants.

They could if they wanted. The politicians are more interested in pleasing the Americans who don't want them to deport them than those who do.
The Dems want the votes from the ones who stay poor and the Reps want the votes from the ones who make it in our society.
They all make their living on tax money. Many of them are life long politicians and they are the only ones with a vote on term limits, so there will never be any.
So, wether they are adding tax income from the successful immigrants or votes from those who don't even have a legal right to vote, they are all pro-illegal-immigrant, no matter what they say.

85% of all Americans support some sort of illegal immigration reform. That is all Americans of every ethnic background possible to include legal hispanic citizens. Yes we understand as a Country, the opposition is very small 15% with a very loud voice. Why the President and his staff would turn a blind eye to this problem is confusing when he has failed at everything, if he fixed this problem he would get a huge win that he desperately needs.

They ARE deported every day, or put in deportation proceedings when they are found. I wold say hundreds of people are ordered deported every day from all over the US. Anyone who is not authorized to be in the US will be put in removal proceedings when they are discovered. The problem is the lack of resources.
The process is lengthy. Mexicans caught close to the border can get voluntary return. People have the right to go before the immigration judge, and they can't waive that right. So, they have to be put on the immigration court docket. There are a number of defenses to deportation and people can apply for them.
If a person is picked up and detained while waiting to be deported. Some people are mandatorily detainable, depending on whether they've committed crimes. They can go before the judge and ask for their deportation. If they get the deportation order and they are from a country other than Mexico, it will take about a month or so before they can even be shipped back.
I work very closely with all of this, and I can tell you that the government truly is stepping up enforcement. But they are still very far from being able to get rid of 12 million people!!!

Your post smells of ignorance. And your quotes are way off and dumb.
There are 11 million illegal immigrants that actually have a right to be here but the wait time is 20+ years because its an inhumane wait period they decide to stay to be with family but when their app finally gets processed 20+ years later they are asked to leave go back to their own country for a Visa stamp where the US embassy then stamps no re-entry for 10 years so the immigration system is actually causing people to be illegal because people with rights fear to go home for a stamp they are told to get which will never be given to them.
Once the 10 year ban is up they have to start again which means 20 year wait +10 year ban + 20 year wait = 50 years and Americans scream illegal aliens should do it the legal way
Spouse of citizens are first priority wait time is supposed to be about 3 months reality is 20-25 years
There are a huge amount of reasons for someone being illegal its not just as simple as everyone being a border jumper many come here legally and fall into an overstay status do many have rights to be here YES but inhumane wait times is the problem, do many bring vast amounts of money YES, do many pay taxes YES, you really need to stop listening to redneck ignorance and look at the real facts.

All it takes is enforcement of the laws currently on the books.
If this is NOT done, the ones here will stay, and more will keep coming.
1. No jobs, no illegals. If employers hiring illegals were thrown in jail, fined, and/or put out of business, this would be the single greatest deterrent to illegal aliens coming to this country.
2. If illegal aliens were not allowed to rent or buy houses, this would also serve as a deterrent, limiting housing available tot them, but wouldn't prevent them from moving in with someone. If they did, that person is now breaking the law, harboring illegal aliens.
3. If illegal ailens were denied ANY MONETARY ASSISTANCE from any governmental agency for any reason, this would also help.
If these laws were aggressively enforced, we would NOT be where we are today.

It would be far better and far more economical to just levy high fines and/or jail anyone who hires an illegal.
The jobs would dry up and they would find their own way back home.
That is EXACTLY what was done during the Eisenhower administration and the U.S. experienced its lowest level of illegal immigration in the history of the nation.
That trend continued until the Johnson administration changed the policy.

.I lived for many years in an area of California where there is a high population of illegal immigrants. They DO NOT speak English...do not want to and do not intend to. Many are illiterate in their own language...They want to live their own culture right here and the powers that be give in to them. Drive down Van Nuys Blvd. or in L.A., many signs are in spanish. They are not nice...they are belligerant and dislike the "gringo". They are not sent away because they vote...illegally, but they do vote. They drop their anchor babies and get welfare. Hard working? Hah!!!! They work hard at taking and living off the taxpayers.
Enigma is the ignorant one. He obviously listens and believes the liberal rhetoric. They do not pay taxes. They have phoney Social Security Cards, claim many exemptions, if they have a real job, so no deductions are taken and since the social security number is not theirs, they do not file income tax returns. Wake up everyone. They vocalize their intention to "take back California" all the time.

Actually, I have known some illegals and they are the kindest people I've ever met.
They have either obtained legal residency and/or US citizenship, but they all speak English as well as I do, all have been paying income taxes even before becoming legal and all have graduated H.S.
Unlike many Americans, they are very family oriented and family is a high priority to them. Since when is caring for your family and sending them their hard earned money to those residing in another country where you obviously have no idea how hard it is to even GET a job, among other things- make them unkind people? Quite the contrary!
They don't get rich in their country by working here and sending money back there to help their relatives! If you even knew how everything is more expensive and how much harder it is in those coutries to survive and live you wouldn't speak such stupidity. To get jobs? And most once they have jobs get such a small salary that nobody could survive on it! And how expensive vehicles cost? There are so many more reasons why one can't compare life in those countries to the USA.
If you took the time to learn about how life really is harder for them than here, you would be able to engage in an intelligent conversation. Not that it would make you change your opinion on their being here illegally, but at least understanding WHY they want to come here in the first place. Then again you're probably just heartless and do not care to know the facts and hope that your simple argument of,"no documentation, then deportation" would suffice.
I support the new immigration bill and hope it is passed.

If you eliminate what they are coming here for they will go somewhere else. Extremely stiff fines and jail sentences for those that hire them in the United States will slow things down. Of course laws like these would have to be enforced and I doubt that would ever happen. Law enforcement in the USA is a big farce.
