Here is your Dodge website to get an owner's manual:
http://www.dodge.com/owners/index.html

You could view this online Advance Auto "Today's TuneUp" video to get an idea of basic tuneup item maintenance. But I would start by getting the Dodge manufacturer's maintenance schedule for your truck from the owner's manual or at a Dodge online website. Now's a good time to start a maintenance log book for your car and review all the manufacturer's recommended maintenance to establish a baseline from when you bought the truck. Make separate pages for all the maintenance items and write down the date, mileage and what was done. Then if you ever have a performance problem and the repair shop asks you what work has been done on your truck, you can refer to your maintenance log. Also record the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), engine size, manufacture date, etc for quick reference when your ordering parts. Record filter part numbers, fluid capacities, wrench sizes etc. Check with http://www.carfax.com for your truck's VIN history. Register your truck at http://www.mycarstats.com for recall, TSBs and owner complaints about your vehicle. Also look for recalls and TSBs on the http://www.edmunds.com/maintenance/maintenance.do website.

The spark plugs are due every 30,000 miles, according to the maintenance schedule. But they obviously can go longer. If they are the original, change them now. Use the Champion plugs that come from the factory, Dodges do not like "split fires" or double platinum this or that. Just plain old Champion plugs, they are cheap!!

30K miles and I use NGK copper V-groove in my 4.7 dakota. and I can tell you me and many peopel on a dakota durango site will tell you they run better than champions. champions are good for lawnmowers and thats about it. just becasue a dealership calls for a certain plug dont make it the best. after all they only use champions becasue they was low bidder on the spark plug contract. just liek on fords tehy have on the gas cap use only BP gas. but how many people follow that.

go with NGK you wont be sorry. goto www.dakota-durango.com and ask there. they will tell you the same thing about NGK and the 4.7.

might want to take your TB off and its not that hard and makes it easier to clean and take the IAC off and clean it. it has one screw on it and becareful when putting it back in as you can cut the o rings real easy. did it once lol. get a can of TB cleaner and some nylon brushes and a roll of paper towels and goto town.

the spark plugs are supposed to be changed every 30k miles. (Stay with Champion Plugs, no platium or double platium)
You have coil packsover the plugs so you have no wires to change. Thats about it for a tuneup on these motors, Maybe a air filter, PCV Valve, and clean the throttle body.
Rear Diff Fluid should be changed and maybe have the trans filters and fluid changed

Do it now. The plugs are easy to get to but the coils will be stuck in the tubes. It may help to spray some wd-40 or equivalent in there first to break them loose. You'll see what I mean.

At 100,000 miles change the spark plugs and plug wires, change the oil and filter if you haven't recently, and have the transmission flushed for the sake of arguement.
