Should all the polititians send their own children to war fronts when they decide to start a war with other countries? As all old Kings were training their own kin to the best to fight and lead in front for the people!!
These days they are only earning money over selling weapons when they make wars!

Yes, its true that to join an army is voluntry. Sometimes youth does not have other choice of work but to join army! But dont forget that these people are not consulted before declaring a war, they only do their job. And they would love to come back to their loved ones as soon as they are allowed to. They are not suicide bombers but serving interests of some thick skulls! Does it get through your thick skull too?

In Vietnam we sent our poor to kill their poor.
Thats what war is about. Bankers making a lot of money
and the middle class and poor dying for their greed.
But I would love to see Bushes children serve. Since he thinks
it is such a noble cause perhaps Jenna should sign up.

If their children wanted to go, they could. In a voluntary system, anyone who wants to join (who can qualify) can join. Most politician's kids don't need to. Most people don't join the military out of a sense of duty to the nation. I'm sure that is a contributing factor, but not the main reason. The main reason is the military offers a good salary and great benefits with no experience required. They'll even pay your tuition costs for college. Politicians tend to be rich, so their kids don't have to look to the military for employment. The tired old argument about politicians "sending" their kids to wars they start is beginning to grate on the nerves a bit. Our system simply doesn't work that way. If President Bush's daughters wanted to join, they are free to do so. If they don't want to, they don't have to. I like it that way. If a person doesn't want to join the military and are forced to, they become a liability to the troops around them because they lack dedication. The system we have now is just fine--with or without politician's kids.

We don't "send" children off to war.
We have an all volunteer force made up of young adults.
I see some are still mouthing that "poor and uneducated" canard. Nothing could be further from the truth. Read the truth about who serves.....

First of all we do not let children into the Military. They are ALL legal adults who make up their own mind to serve their country in our ALL volunteer force. If and when we ever find it necessary to start up the draft, then and only then will all bets be off.

Everyone has a choice what to do in life, at least here in the US. Now if you do not exercise that right to choose then that is your fault. In addition as you said its all voluntary so what is your problem? Have you served? If not what gives you the right to even open your mouth? Ahhhh, thats right the Constitution that all soldiers past present and future have fought for. I assume your not one of them

why do you want to send children to war? are you from sudan where this is normal? do you want to give them drugs too and tell them that it will make them invincible?
soldiers are no good to anyone unless they have combat experience. so why do people ***** and moan when soldiers get sent around the world to do what they are trained to do? i just dont get it. I sleep sound in my bed because others have made the ultimate sacrifce, i am thankful for the cost that has been paid in blood for that privlidge.

I don't think that would be good in terms of civilian control of the military. A rich guy in a wheelchair and fat drunk guy beat the military minds of Hitler and Tojo after all.

We would all like to think it only fair for their children to go into service, but, that decision should be left up to their children. They should not have to suffer for their father's mistakes.
