Maybe you heard about the new "Toyger" cat breed? Apparently they are being selectively bred toward the aim of having tiger-like characteristics, like ruffs of fur around the face and rounded ears. Here's a link to an article about them. http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/story?id=2937638
Hey, I found it..here is the appearance they are hoping to achieve in the next few years. http://www.toygers.org/images/a1futureb.jpg

How big is the litter box? This sounds like a brand new urban legend getting started. All of the tiger breeding programs I have ever heard about are done with the intent of increasing the world tiger population so they do not go extinct. I have never heard of one where they were trying to be bred for domestication. There are plenty of private breeders who breed tigers for sale as pets, however, I have never heard of one trying for a small version.

from what I understand, not really. They're called Toygers, a house cat bred to look like a toy model of the largest member of the cat family. The article I referenced explains more :)

nicely, first of all, domesticated cats are descended from the ecu wlidcat, its no longer comparable to breeding a wolf and canine. lions and tigers are from the genus panthera, mutually as family ones are of the felid class like a cougar. and a extensive wild cat could look to a domesticated one as prey, no longer as a mate.
