I have some jewellery findings, stamped with '18 KGP XP' - I have found references to this being 18 karat gold plated - is this right?

Both the gold coloured finding and the nickel/silver colour findings have the stamp.

Cheers!

Thanks ppls - I was pretty certain that it meant it is gold plated - but why does the silver/nickel coloured piece have the stamp as well? Surely if it is 'gold plated', it should be 'gold coloured'?

It means Gold plated.. It is bonded with a thin layer of gold . It will wear off in time, and try a silver color, and some people has allergies to the metal underneath . Can cause rash etc. IT IS CHEAP AND MOST PEOPLE WILL NOT BUY NECKLACES. RINGS THAT ARE BONDED WITH THE PLATING.
