I am not sure how Mears will develop, but I hope he turns out to be a good sign for Hendrick. Here is what I do not get... if Hendrick wants to sign Jr (not sure if they want to or not), then I would tell Kyle "happy trails bud." Kyle crashes more cars than anyone out there! It seems like every race he is banging it up just because he cant learn things. Kyle has been with Hendrick for I dont know how long but he only has 4 wins! I just think its time for him to go somewhere else... What do all of you Hendrick fans think? Or Hendrick haters think? How about an even trade... Jr, for Ky!

Ky may have potential, but thats just another way of saying "you have not done anything for me yet."

Rick46-
But the chase does not start today... Ky is only in the chase by 39 points... and if JR didnt cheat, he would be 9th in points well ahead of Ky... Good statement, but the chase does not end today... I would be willing to bet KY does not make the chase at the rate he is going...

I am not saying AX ky because he keeps crashing, I am just saying "what have you done for me latley" And lets be honest, most of his crashes have been his own doing.

David G-
That is what I am saying... when is he going to learn that he cannot go 100% with a car that will only allow him 85%. He has to learn when to go hard and when he has to take it easy until they can fix the car for him....

Kyle will be ok right now he is just young and impatient. He just loves to race and sometimes gets into trouble by going to hard.

Yes I think Hendrick should get rid of Kyle. He is a pretty good driver when he's not wrecking. I think he is very hot headed and he doesn't fit very well w/ the rest of the Hendrick Family. My husband thinks I am crazy & Hendrick would be crazy to let him go. He feels that if Hendrick can get him to calm down he is going to be great. My question to him is "How long is it going to take?" I think Hendrick has waited long enough. Let some other owner take care disciplining the child. Same thing was going on w/ Kurt except he was having some sucess. He also would throw temper tantrums. I say get rid of him and get JR. in the car; he seems to fit w/ the rest of the HMS Family.

Jeff Gordon Fan!!

I think that Kyle has done some pretty retarded things this season. Winning at Bristol and saying over and over again that his car sucked, and then leaving Texas without letting anyone know, and then wrecking his brother at the All Star Race and wrecking last week at Charlotte. I mean seriosly I think that Jr. might be a good option if Kyle doesnt stay at Hendrick but they are talking about contract negotiations and extensions for Kyle but he has screwed up this season a few times and keeps on wrecking alot of cars.

well since 2005, Kyle's first full year kyle has won 4 races while JR has won 2. Also keep in mind Jr's first full season was 2000. Kyle is only 22. And what was Dales highest place? 5th. Kyle has had 4 better. Also Jr has won 17 or 18 races while Jimmie Johnson has won 30 and raced 2 less years. What does that tell you about Jr. Go to somewhere like Ginn Racing.

I wonder how the Jr fans would feel if he was to end up at HMS and was to be Jeff Gordon's teammate...... I am a Gordon fan and I do not hate Jr... I root against him because it is the natural thing to do...... I really would not care if Jr ended up at HMS next year.
Can you imagine the $$$$ Rick Hendrick would be raking in with 3 of the biggest names in Nascar racing on his team?
I say get rid if Kyle and get JR in there.... pay DEI top dollar to keep the number 8 no matter what the cost and keep Bud as a sponser and allow Visa on board as well... now we are talking serious casholla!!!!

Yea Kyle wrecks more cars than anyone else! For those that remember, Jeff Gordon wrecked a ton of cars when he was in the Busch series so maybe Rick Hendrick sees something in the kid that makes him think he will develop into the next Gordon... I don't think Hendrick would want to sign Jr.... If he did he would have three potential #1 drivers, the ego's would be out of control!

Here's my two cents- I would L-O-V-E, LOOOOOOVE Jr to go to a team like Hendricks!

However, I do not want him to go to ANY team that is going to kick out another driver to make room for him. Don't get me wrong, if Hendricks had say Ken Schrader as a driver, well that would just make sense to make room for him, but as much as I find Kyle to be an arrogant little snot, he is a good driver. He just needs to mature, but he does have what it takes to be a good driver.

Also, I don't want Jr getting any enemies or losing fans because someone got kicked out. In a perfect world he might replace Kyle and go on to win his first Championship and then every one would be singing and shouting praises, but let's face it this ain't no perfect world, so if he were to bump Kyle out of his ride and manage to achieve the worse losing streak in history, it would be beer cans and boos for our Junebug!

No, let Jr go where he fits in perfectly. And IFdown the road Kyle gets fired because of his own stupidity then so be it!

No, but Hendrick should set him down and tell Kyle how it needs to be. I don't see blaming it on the cars. Any car can be overdriven, it is not on rails. He should know the cars limits.
Maybe Hendrick needs to stick him back in the Busch series for a time out.

Agreed, and NASCAR should kick out Hendrick.
As far as Kyle being too aggressive, that was Earnhardt's problem in the early 1980s. Many said he just couldn't drive, but some said if he ever learned to control his temperament and take care of his equipment, he could be a great driver one day. And you see what happened with him, 7 championships. Kyle might just be the next Dale Earnhardt, who knows?

i agree with the guy a couple up from me... kyle is a good driver and when he learns to calm down a little bit and make better decisions on the track then he will be alot better..i think his biggest problem is maturity and learning that sometimes you have to be patient and not force the issue and harness his aggression... i cant stand the guy but he is a good race car driver... he isnt scared to get all out of a car he can get..just needs some lessons from some team mates and others close by about wasting your equiptment...

Even Trade? That's a Joke. Jr is way better than Kyle. Jr will be with Hendrick next season. Jr would not announce he is leaving without a place to go.
