I believe that proselytizing is defined as trying to convert to ones religion, whereas atheists USUALLY are more in the business of education. They give scientific facts and information, although granted we also get out fair share of sky pixie stuff. If you are explaining logical fallacies and science, it isn't proseltyzing. It's giving information. Generally, they don't want people to necessarily abandon their religions, but rather to understand that religion within the context of established fact.

Actually, most, myself included, would be quite happy if Christians didn't try to "convert" us through law, such as prayer in schools. Maybe though, since it is seen as equivalent by Christians,we Should do something that was actually equivalent, like attempting to pass a law that no preacher could preach unless a scientist was given equal time at the pulpit. THEN,it would be the same

Really... so you had an Atheist come to your door trying to give your fliers at 7 am, about how god doesn't exist? Then, when you tried to close the door, they tried to block you from doing so? You had an Atheist hand out fliers to try to get you to buy into their beliefs?

I don't think you know what prostelytizing is. Religious people try to sell their religion to people, Atheists don't.

I guess if you can proselytize reason, common sense, and scientific evidence, then atheists proselytize.

Proselytizing generally involves "belief", though, not cold hard facts. Perhaps there are some atheists out there who promote "beliefs", but that would be a small contingent of atheists.

No, not really. I only have a problem with other people ramming their religion down my throat. I don't walk up and down my road with a banner that says "Satan Saves!", or ring private citizens' doorbells and accost them in their own homes with The Satanic Bible, or even discuss my religion unless I'm pushed into it. I wish more christians were like that.

I do not try to convert anyone to seeing things my way. Atheists like Wiccans, do not attempt to convert anyone. I will tell what I believe but I only get loud if you get loud with me first
I could care less whether someone sees things my way or not. I am happy with who I am and that is all that matters

I don't convert. I just state my opinions, then I leave

On many occasions where people question their faith, I have seen atheists post answers such as "do what feels right to you", then state a few reasons why they're atheists, while others of different religions say how their way is the only way.

Here's an example:

Obviously if they're proselytizing but how many do? I point out that atheism is the logical default- people are free to accept that if they choose.
