I read all of the questions and answers in here and it makes me wonder why people hate Christianity and Christians so much? Yes I will quickly admit that there are a few bad apples that have made Christians look bad, but we are moral and try to do good works. In my case i do not shove my religion off on others as I try to respect their right to believe how they want to. I just try to live with the hope that my life will be a reflection of my beliefs. So please tell me why Chritianity is so feared? It seem to me like people who bash it are simply scared to death of it. Why is that we seem to do nothing but discriminate but are never victims of discrimination?....just asking so now start the bashing.

Thanks everyone for the answers...I think I opened a can of worms (not that I didn't realize that when I first typed the question)...There have been a lot of bad things done throughout history in the name of Christianity...This confirms my belief that Christianity is in need of some serious PR...As for the shoving part I agree that many try to shove Christianity off on others...My wife and I were visiting a church once and twice during two weeks people came by our home at 8:45 when our little girl had just gone to bed and wanted to talk about us joining the church and that totally turned me off to that church...Just so everyone knows atheist, muslim, buddhist, etc. I am not one to shove my religion off on others and i hope that my good works are enough to help you see that I try and do the right thing and that I believe that my belief in God and Christ are what drive me to do good works...Thanks all

I am getting some really good answers...some are what I expected but some are helpful in realizing the flaws of modern Christians...I agree with many in the fact that we seem intolerant to what others believe...Sure I want all to believe in Christ because He has changed my life, but I personally respect others and know that they are free to believe as they choose...so please do not label me like that...liek I said Christianity is in need of an explosive PR campaign bcasue there have been so many posers who have used it as a business to make money and make others feel so condemned..Once again thanks all

I don't hate Xians and I don't hate Xianity. What I hate is the extremely vocal minority that try to push these beliefs on everybody else.

There's a separation of church and state for a reason and yet they want everybody to worship as they do and follow their rules. I'm sorry, but I'm not supporting that. And do you think they would support it if the government decided to make Islam the official religion of the country? Hell no. They'd be up in arms because it's not what they believe.

I've known Xians, I've known a lot of them in my time and the vast majority of them are cool with me being an atheist just like I'm cool with them being whatever denomination they are. It's only the real hardcore, born again bible bleaters that I really have an issue with.

It's not because of satan or religious beliefs as such, I find some christians hateful when they are being racist or homophobic or dicriminatory. There's a lot of hypocrisy from some christians and they are so stupid
Edit: Some people know that not all christians are bigots or homophobes but like most things it's the vocal loud ones who will be noticed, if you are a christian who 'lives and lets live' (so to speak) then people may not notice unlike the ones who are loopy

Because of some insulting ideas your faiths spreads. You think all religions are fake, except for yours. Many Christians do not respect teachings from other faiths, like Buddha or Hindu, or Wicca. Or seem to accept that Heaven and Hell are Christian/Muslim afterlives and are not universal. Buddhists, Hindus, and Wiccans all have their own afterlives and are not going to be in Hell or Heaven. Many of you Christians are religiously intolerant. Some Christians actually pray for the world to end, the time when your Savior is supposed to return. What can be more evil than praying for the world to end? Your traditions holds that all other people will be subjected to Eternal Torture because they didn't join your faith and the world ending is a time of joy for you. The Christianity that many Christians practice is an evil death cult. In my honest opinion, you make Satanists look like decent, loving people compared to how your faith portrays itself on the world stage.

What do you mean by "people?" One of the problems on this planet is that so much hatred exists everywhere, not only for Christians, but for people of other religions, races, ethnic and cultural groups -- even for people living in different regions of the same country. Sometimes I wonder if we are wired for hatred. Look deeply into your own soul. Can you honestly say that you have no hatreds? If so, you belong to a very small minority.

nicely for one I do have faith in God , the morals and values linked with the writings of the Bible …. yet as a longtime faith I hate Christianity it has a historic previous of demise and “hypocrisy” many have used it as a scapegoat to homicide and wipe out civilizations. people who save on with faith now and returned get caught up in an ethnocentric physique of strategies and disrespect many of the middle values of the religion. As historic previous factors out the terrific crimes have been dedicated interior the call of religion ; the crusades, conquest of the hot international and Christianity has did no longer lend a helping hand to those in choose such became the case with slavery. returned i've got faith in God , yet ultimately locate the corporation too a great way derived and incorrect in terms of historic previous and don’t choose to be linked with the gang. just to sum it up I dislike Christianity no longer Christians it’s the historic previous and association that comes alongside with it …the ingredient I renounce.

No one is against Christians...
I actually pity them.. for they follow a faith that is purely hoax.
We want to save Jesus and Christians from Christiantiy.

Jesus was such a holy man..He was not God or son of God
just a prophet

Please learn only good teachings from him..

There was no virgin birth or resurrection...
People are fooling u all in the name of holy man

I don't hate Christians. I just don't like some of the stuff they say. Some Christian posts ooze self righteousness and condemnation and actually we are all human and just beneath the skin we are all the same. I know some lovely Christians who take me as I am (warts and all. Lol! - haven't got any really!!) and others who treat me like I am a daughter of satan.
I don't think I am better or worse than anyone else and I believe my way of seeing life is as valid as anyone else's.
Let's share our wisdom not emphasise our differences. We are sisters and brothers.

this guy stated that atheists are likely to be like Hitler
sooo many UTTERLY condescending Qs are asked saying "atheists don't have morals" or atheists are sad pathetic people"

and even though i don't believe in God(s) i DO have a religion-Buddhism and i certainly am a moral and ethical person....out of all the religious people i know christians are the most hurtful and disrespectful.

thank you...and no,i won't label you as such...i always try to keep my mind fresh when i meet a new person.sometimes it's hard to remember this:P lol...but i try really hard and i really do wish that there were more christians like you who admitted that overriding others' beliefs is disrespectful.many just think that they have a "right" to do so.http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Am881bWEeSegwTqiKGZna1jsy6IX?qid=20070529065611AAP4lhE&show=7#profile-info-AA11638870 check out cupriccross's answer in this Q....there are a LOT of people saying similar stuff

I truly don't hate Christianity or Christians. I'm one of three atheists in my town (the other 2 are my kids), and we are surrounded by Christians. There's no animosity between us.

Here in the forum, if a Christian troll asks a rude question, I'll give it back to them. But that doesn't mean I hate them. Respect begets respect. Those who ask nicely will receive the same from me.
