The door ajar switches on a 2003 Explorer, and ALL Fords are situated inside the latch assembly itself, if that's what you are referring to. They are not located externally on the door itself. If the ajar indicator is staying on even when all doors are closed, one of them is grounding out. Spray LIBERAL amounts of penetrating fluid on ALL latches, and repeat several openings and closings of all the doors until, the indicator no longer stays illuminated.

Not sure what you mean? I believe they are on the door ( under the window) not on the top side.
