Not really. It's fairly unimaginative. You're either not serious or fairly ignorant. Your age weight and height are all used to determine healthy weight. You might want to take in more fluids if all you are going to drink all day is a cup of tea and glass of water.

A few tips:
This diet can seem fine, but your not getting a sturdy breakfast (this is the most important meal of the day). Add some fruit or eggs, you need more than one slice of toast, if you don't like eating in the morning - why don't you try a smoothie?. Id also recommend you ensure you are getting enough protein (so in that sandwich add some chicken or tuna) you can also change the sandwich for a wrap, jacket potato, pitta bread, if you mix it up your more likely to stick to it.
Try to introduce two light snacks during the day rather then a supper, its ideal not to eat any man made carbs 3 hours before bed, try a ryvita and cottage cheese, or houmous's and pitta bed for a snack - if your worried about the additional calories, just ensure your main dinner is a regular portion size, its easy to over eat when someone serves us up dinner.

Good luck - you seem to be there with it all

That sounds fine to me, it sounds as though you are approaching this in a very mature way. You are not starving yourself and you will be hitting all the main food groups. I have started a diet today too. What I am trying to do is eat little and often, so as well as what you have outlined here I will have a mid morning snack of a piece of fruit, or a yoghurt, and a handful of nuts and dried fruit between lunch and dinner. That way your blood sugar levels stay constant throughout the day and this should help to stave off any cravings you would get for fatty or sugary foods. Try to drink a couple of litres of water a day and take some exercise a few times a week. Skipping or running are good ones.

Good luck!

Seems a bit basic.

Doesn't seem to be enough vitamin C in this but I guess that depends on the hot meal.

Maybe add a glass of orange juice at lunch instead of water.

And if you are only intending to have one glass of water that is insufficient. There should be at least 6-8 glasses.

This will keep you alive but I think there are a few essentials missing and not enough fruit with only 1 apple.

Eating too few calories can cause as many problems with your metabolism as eating too many can.
Start your day with some protein and fat. It will keep you satiated longer and your body needs it. You can have the slice of toast (whole grain please)but add a tablespoon of peanutbutter to it to get a little protein and fat in. Or have a hard boiled egg and a piece of whole grain toast.

Mostly fine, but i reckon you could do with a better breakfast, 1 slice of toast is not enough. Have a yoghurt or some fruit with it. Also, you can use sweeteners in tea if you usually have sugar.

the meals look fine, if not exactly inspiring. just watch out for the mars bars in between and take a bit of exercise - walking wherever possible is a really good place to start.

My downfall is late at night - you put on more weight i think if you eat late on and your body doesnt have time to digest it properly before you go to bed - be careful watching late night films!

Great! Just be sure you burn your intake of that stuff, especially lunch! If your under 40, run, jog, bike, lift weights, other gym stuff, or whatever. Think of yourself as a car. What you eat is gas to you. If it just sits, it creates problems. Drive. If over 40, walk and become an avid Yoga person.

How old are you? You mention your Mum, are you still in school? If so, you are still growing, and you NEED more than this.

However, it's good that you're thinking in terms of watching your weight and your food intake, the danger is that you might just go a little to far to the extreme. It's not only quantity that counts, also quality and the properties in the food are important to consider. If you stick to what you have set out for yourself, all you will end up doing is putting your body into famine mode and ending up GAINING weight.

Breakfast: Bowl of porridge made with water, some milk added, and a spoonful of honey. You could also add 20g of either sunflower seeds or linseeds, which are very good for your inner organs, helps them function more efficiently (of course, if you are allergic to nuts, don't eat these). Add a dash of cinnamon to the porridge. You can also slice up a pear or apple and mix this in, or 20g of raisins. If you must have toast, have two sliced of wholmeal or wholegrain toast with honey (no butter!) and a banana, and some orange juice and as much tea as you like, but you're right, it should be without sugar.

Lunch: You can have a sandwich and a salad, or meat and a salad. Depends on what's in that salad and sandwhich though! Readymade salad dressings have all kinds of additives, better to use just olive oil and vinegar. NO MAYONAISSE!!!! No salad dressing. You can have as much green leaves, tomatoes, onion, grated carrot, grated white cabbage, etc. as you want. You could also have small tin of tuna or a couple of spoonfuls of beans in there, like pinto beans (and I'm not talking about the beans in tomato sauce, although aside from the sugar they aren't too bad from a nutritional point of view).

If you have a sandwich, make sure it's either wholewheat or wholegrain bread. Don't eat white bread. No butter, no mayo, and only slice of ham or meat or cheese. But of course you can put in salad leaves, tomatoes, onions, as much as will fit.

During the day you can snack on fruit like apples, pears, oranges, these are very good for you. What you could also do too is have carrot sticks and celery sticks in with your lunch to help fill you up, very healthy. If you want to flush out a lot of old stuff in you (bear with me, I'm trying to be delicate about this here), then drink down a glass of water every hour if you can. If you take about 8 glasses of water a day, and cut back on fried and really oily foods, you'll start seeing some real changes in your skin and hair too.

Dinner: Whatever your Mum cooks, hmmm. You need to have a word with your Mum, that you'd like to watch your weight. Ask her to go easy on things like chips and mashed potato with lots of butter and cream through it, lasagne with white sauce, macaroni with cheese ... In fact, if you leave out cream and butter and heavy sauces, you'll help yourself a LOT. If you're still growing you need cheese and milk, as regards milk try to get into lowfat, and instead of cream, try lowfat bifidus yoghurt. It's got the added bonus of being good for the digestion. Another thing about your Mum, she might be able to help you put together a good filling and healthy lunch.

Supper: If you've had enough to eat during the day, you won't really want a supper. In any case, it's better not to eat anything after 8pm if you're going to bed early. In my own experience, it's better to each the bulk of your intake earlier in the day anyway, because you'll be using it. Of course it's not possible in today's lifestyle, but the Mediterreans do it with the long lunches and then they work later in the evenings.

A word about the likes of Alpen, cornflakes, special K - these are completely EMPTY calories, and are full of additives ... I very rarely eat them and when I do I feel funny. If you must have cereal, get organic muesli at an organic foodstore.

Best of luck with this. Get help from your family if you want to watch your weight. Starving yourself is not the way to go.
