Pray tell, what was that question?

Yeah, right. -- We are already so peaceful, we never say a discouraging word against each other. We are all just one happy family. "Happy days are here again."

confession: Maybe I am spending too much time with the night crowd of R/S. Folks there seem to ready for "fisticuffs".

Dear "loka" - I can't think of a peaceful question to ask them, either. Maybe Acid-Zebra can help us.

About 10 hours ago. It was "How do you personally interpret Scripture?" That's it. Not a loaded question.

Your sort of question is a good reality-check though. I think that, in itself, is beneficial.

I'm not sure.

My questions are generally honest (admittedly there have been a few where I was poking at a sleeping bear with a stick). Generally, I really want to know how people will answer. It helps me to put my own problems and search in prospective. I know that many times my own frustration shows through in my writing. That could come across as adversarial but that is rarely the intention.

I have no adversaries, but if you mean people who believe differently from me, then the answer would be "All the time." I mail-chat daily with a Christian I met here, and occasionally I converse with others of many different faiths. We are always respectful simply because we are the best of friends. We ask many questions of each other. Knowing people personally does a lot to dispel the myths of their faiths.

Well, you could look at my list of questions on my profile. I do not ask questions in a hostile way, nor do I feel particularly hostile against anyone who has good manners. And even the bad mannered ones, my usual style is to try to coax them into behaving better, rather than name-calling and hostility in response to their name-calling and hostility. The roughest I generally get is to suggest that they grow up. I do not often use even that expression, as I understand that growing up takes time, and many of the people here are really quite young. I mean literally, physically young, not merely uneducated, uninformed, ignorant.

Atheist, Explain to me your view of the evil in this world?

And really I haven't asked a question since. Well not here.

Mostly the best natural wine recipe isn't to controversial to anyone which was my real last question. Since no one in food and drink could answer maybe someone here can. Does anyone here have a good recipe for natural wine (no sulphates).

You know me.
I actually don't ask alot of questions, but what I have learned now is to not "personnally" address a question either to non-beleivers or to believers.... it might be the peacefullest question asked, but if it's "addressed" it always provokes some sort of negative response and that is the least of my desires.

Now, I'll simply state a q, and hope for decent answers from all.

blessings :)

Depends on your definition of adversary...someone who opposes my point of view and understands true debate can be fun to discuss questions with...some one who does not have a rudimentary grasp of the issues at hand tend to be not so fun as their arguments (attacks) tend to become more personal because they failed to understand the issue in the first place...

Why?

Why would I want to talk to a selfish abuser who took every opportunity to put me down in front of my family, friends & our daughter?

I've repeatedly tried to talk peacefully to him - but the last two times he challenged my mental state - & I'm not on a pension for that he is.

Yesterday, I asked a question about raising children which I believed to be non-provocative, yet I was surprised by the response it provoked.
