Fr.Al, I Think, Most of the Time, What is Written In the Bible (or Any Holy Book), Takes a Back Seat to One's Day-to-Day Life.

Yes. There has to be life first. There has to be life last. There has to be life paramount, I must live that life with and for others, or the words which guide that life are meaningless. It was when Mother Theresa as a young nun first took that meager box of bandaids out into the alley that the stories ceased just to be a collection and became Living Word.
[for her and those who came to learn from her]
Who said the Bible was a book? I treat it as considerably more. Part of that I learned from that one wonderful woman (she was a salty old gal!) back in the 70's. And you did ask "Christians" whether seeing it that way made other things Pale in comparison. Well.... I'd be a charlatan if I said I saw nothing more there or did not apply all and He Whom I know through this treasure.
I'ver read it enough that I don't go looking for answers, I guess you'd say it takes a back seat place for me. I encounter its truths and challenges in day-to-day living, along with the help and presence of a living Lord. God is about Life.
Bibliolatry is odious to me. I live a meaningful life, and hope you do, too.
What is significant to me may not be so to you, our signs are where we find them and people don't always look in the same places. I don't carry the Bible under my arm any more than you carry the PDR or a diagnostic manual under yours.
If I gave an answer to those who go in for the curious and absurd concerning the Bible and its versions it would be the two words of the Bible's shortest verse.

Yep.
Why?
It has been reported for about 50 years that the Bible has been the largest seller of all books published in the history of the world.
The Bible was written by about 40 men in about 1600 years dating from 1500 B.C. to about 100 A.D. These men wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit (2 Pet. 1:21). They wrote not in words of human wisdom but in words taught by the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 2:13).
English Bible
The first translation of the English Bible was initiated by John Wycliffe and completed by John Purvey in A.D. 1388.
The first American edition of the Bible was perhaps published some time before A.D. 1752.
The Bible has been translated in part or in whole as of 1964 in over 1,200 different languages or dialects.
The Bible was divided into chapters by Stephen Langton about A.D. 1228.
The Old Testament was divided into verses by R. Nathan in A.D. 1448 and the New Testament by Robert Stephanus in A.D. 1551.
There are 66 books in the Bible, 39 in the OT and 27 in the new. (Note: 3 x 9 = 27).
The OT has 929 chapters and 23,214 verses. The NT has 260 chapters and 7,959 verses.
In the OT, the longest book is Psalms. The shortest book is Obadiah.
In the NT, the longest book is Acts. The shortest is 3 John.
The word "God" occurs 4,379 times. The word "Lord" occurs 7,738 times.
Isaiah is referenced 419 times in 23 NT books; Psalms 414 times in 23 books; Genesis 260 times in 21 books.
Unusual things in the Bible
Methuselah who lived to be 969 years old (Gen. 5:27).
Sons of God married the daughters of men (Gen. 6:2).
Baby had a scarlet thread tied around its hand before it was born (Gen. 38:28-29).

The Bible is a guide to our lives and contains the living breathing Word of God. It is wonderful and changes our understanding and with our understanding.
That having been said, our bodies are wonderfully and extrordanilly made and desirve our awe. The way DNA is a language, amino acid sequencing, how our eye works are all so wonderful.
Our ability to choose how we live, our gift of free will sets us above all other creation. You are set above the angels because of God's gift.
The Bible does not pale in comparison, none of Gods creation does and it is a part, it tells in the Old Testament of a coming Savior, it tells in the new Teatament of the one that came and is to come again. I contains the wisdom of God if you choose to try to understand it. It contains the entirity of man, good and bad, ugly and beautiful.
I hold the word of God close to me, even when I am not as close to it as I should be. I love it more than my own life and I pass it on to my children and help them to learn to love it and understand it.
If you found the key to riches, knowledge, wisdom and life would you think it was just a collection of writtings, that is what the Word of God is.

i could wager via your capitalization of specific parts of that proverb which you're declaring that Christians. a million. tell lies 2. sow discord between "brethren" a million. i don't see Christians telling lies. I see them putting forth God's certainty that a lot of human beings here in R & S do not believe. 2. In some circumstances i could agree because of the fact "brethren" refers to fellow believers. i've got seen various Christians who've a undeniable information of a Biblical coaching who attempt to get different Christians to take their area on the difficulty inflicting discord or branch between believers. i don't even with the shown fact that evaluate trolls like the a million Corinthians 11 guy or woman who posts those verses many times lower back to be a "Christian" even with the shown fact that. That guy or woman, in the event that they seem to be a Christian or not has some sort of psychological fixation that's decidedly risky.

Since Christians don't see the Bible as a collection of "stories," it is impossible to answer your question. Perhaps you have another question that is worth answering.

What?
Not sure of your question, but I know I am Wonderfully made...and I will try to live my life as fully as possible, and help those along the way that I am able to help.
(But I know it isn't on my vast fortune, sorry...just a comment for those who might consider asking for a monetary handout about now)
