Maybe a different spin on the same view, but it is still the same view...I prefer to pit wits with those who oppose my view, generally only 10% actually understand what they are arguing about...50% are regurgitating what someone else's view is which they don't fully understand and the rest are just grasping at media bytes they once heard, and again do not understand...
(By understand ~ I mean they haven't looked the information up on their own and defined their own argument or debate stance...)

Yes of course you can.
Just because you and another agree on a topic don't mean you both have all the answers to everything. They may know something completely new and different that you never realized.
So yes you can learn something new from those who agree with you.

Just because we agree doesn't mean that I automatically know what they know. Usually a thinking person can put a new twist on things I already know and believe in. I also do not think that people agree on every level and every topic. So yeah we can always learn from folks

You can learn how to defend your point of view. You can learn perspective. Do they agree with your beliefs for the same reasons as you?
We can always learn, if we want to learn.

Yes. You can appreciate different perspectives of the same strand of thought, new methodologies for arriving at the same conclusion and you can learn how to interpret sources in a new, innovative way while agreeing with those who have the same belief as you....

Two people may have reached the same conclusion about something, but the path they took to get there may have been different than the one you followed. You can always learn something from someone else's journey.

I've learnt a great deal from watching the Richard Dawkins documentary, "The root of all evil". Sometimes, when someone else articulates ideals that are important to you, it can help you see the same viewpoint from other perspectives, helping you to put forward your own case to those whose ideas may be in conflict with your own.

Sure, you can learn their perspective and how they relate what both of you "agree on" to their life.
