What else could you expect from the intellectually unkempt, who actually believe "there is no evidence for evolution"? Blind faith is right. Deaf and blind, but unfortunately not mute.

Going Postal's answer is the precise reason the thoughts of Jesus and different thoughts in the bible are believed with a view to be real. If a rumor, incorrect information, or a lie (intentional or not) is handed around long adequate and to adequate human beings, it turns into prevalent as reality. Then, no count what the info against, people who have faith it to be real will combat to the dying to look after it. His answer is likewise the precise reason no person tries to "examine" the beginning of what they suspect. "each and every person says so, subsequently, it is going to be real." Why could desire to they examine? And, in the event that they appreciate the originator (individual or e book) they won't examine whether they had to for worry of showing disrespect and a risk repercussions from others who nevertheless have faith it to be real. We see this each and all of the time with so noted as "city legends", chain letters, and political correctness. i'm, by potential of no potential, denying the life of a author. it somewhat is something for each guy or woman to settle on for themselves. yet to refuse to question ourselves and others and to refuse to confess as quickly as we've made a mistake, no count what the subject count, is thoroughly irresponsible and a disservice to ourselves to boot as all of us around us.

I don't know. It's not a very good argument. As you say even if his deathbed recanting was true (and I too doubt the veracity) it doesn't make evolution false anymore than Galileo's recanting made the sun revolve around the earth.
Someone getting scared on their deathbed or by authorities is not grounds for invalidating a theory.

Religious people are DESPERATE for any evidence to support their argument. The entire premise of religion, what they have been told all their lives, it that they MUST believe without evidence.. faith.
Well, even the most primitive mind KNOWS that evidence is how truth is supported and they have NONE.. Therefore, whenever they hear that there is evidence that might support their flimsily faith they grab at it...
I can't help but feel sorry for them. They desperately want to believe in a god and a heaven, but they have nothing but their old book and a bunch of phony leaders, so who can blame them if they try to find evidence on their own...?
Look at this crazy museum they have devised that says that there were dinosaurs on Noah's Ark as a way to explain fossil evidence..

People who use this argument are so caught up in argument by authority, that they believe that scientists are vulnerable to this too.
This is why arguments about evidence are pointless with people like this. To them, scientists believe evolution just because they worship Darwin ... so tear down Darwin, and you tear down evolution.
They do not stop to ask *why* tens of thousands of scientists, for over 150 years, would for the only time in scientific history, abandon the scientific method and simply "follow" one man blindly ... Was it his riveting prose? His charismatic speeches? Perhaps that sexy white beard just turns us all on?
The "Darwin recanted" story (also known as the Lady Hope hoax), is the *sleaziest* argument there is. At least with Galileo, the church had the good manners to put him on trial and *force* him to recant. With Darwin, they just got their "recantation" by putting false words in the mouth of a dying man.
Just despicable.

ME,
I certainly agree with you. I was a Physics minor and it is as silly as going over the fact that he was NOT a Christian. It does not matter to either side. He will answer to Christ as we will and that is that. We should not be constantly on the same questions either. Let's find some new material. Have a wonderful week.
Thank you,

I also believe that this story is just a lie. I am a Christian, and I hate to see people attempt to use a lie to prove a truth-its just wrong.
Now, about science using personal beliefs of scientist. This is a fact. There is no evidence for evolution. It is all (100%) supposition. If evolution was a fact, then all scientist would believe it. But when surveyed, just over half of scientist believe in evolution. Personal beliefs and opinions run amok within the circles of evolution.
There are many scientist willing to publicly state that they do not accept Darwinian evolution as fact. See www.whoisyorcreator.org and scroll down the page for a link to a growing list of 700+ scientist who say so.

Ditto more creationist propaganda.... They constantly take phrases and concepts out of context and misrepresent the ideas of Darwin. Sadly it is near outright lying by proponents of creationism and intelligent design. By the way many that spread creationism are lawyers. One the founders of intelligent design was a lawyer...

This is a myth created after his death. Neither did Voltaire.
If he was going to recant he would have done it many years before in order to please his highly religious wife
But you are absolutely correct on this issue.

He did not "recant" on his deathbed.
The Lady Hope story is just another example of Pious Fraud. Christians engage in it ALL the time.
