Could this be a common problem with Jeeps? It won't idle for long with missing when cold. Sometimes I drive off but it feels like vehicle starved of fuel after first stop sign. Runs well othewise.

I have said this before--Jeeps ARE NOT MADE to work in cold conditions. I have been noticing for more than 30 years that at the first sign of real cold outside (I live in Canada), you will see a plethora of Jeeps pulled off to the side of the roads and highways that REFUSE to run!

No matter what anyone tells you, this is a REAL PROBLEM with the Jeep line, and has been ongoing for a long time.

First make sure your tune-up items are good, especially ignition tuneup like spark plugs, plug wires and distributor cap and rotor (if equipped). If your plug wires are 10 years old, I'd replace them. Finally, check the ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) sensor which tells your computer how hot the coolant is. If it's saying your coolant is hot on a cold start, the ECM computer won't enrichen the air/fuel mixture as needed on a cold start.
