Actually, it may well be that the well informed Christians will be part of the solution that saves America.........from closed minded, biased, "not wanting to hear other theories/opinions", people.........such as yourself.

Will misguided fundamentalist ("PC") liberals eventually destroy America?
with their multiculturalist indoctrination and their contempt for rational thought?
We already have to import our research scientists to compensate for the lack of basic literacy in America brought about by the liberals' subversion of the education system.
How long before theses scientists are no longer interested in helping primitive Third-Worlders? How long before they decide to stay home and help India develop advanced nuclear weapons and China develop racially specific pathogens?

You can believe that if it makes you feel good. Christians don't have contempt for education unless one is using it as a means to become even more self centered. Many will use education and acquisition of knowledge so they won't have to actually go out and help someone who may be in need. I don't know about foreign scientists. I read Time and see the discoveries that are important to me such as proof that DNA could not have created itself, a belief that intelligent life must have been created, etc. Call me misguided, it's ok. I've read the book and know what happens at the end.

There is something in it... you can see exactly what happens to a country that puts religion in the first place when you look at Iran: religions like christianity and islam are always the enemies of science. So, countless iranian scientists left Iran many years ago. Just imagine a scientific genius from India or Russia who is in permanent discussions about faith and creationism with his colleagues and his boss... that does not work so well.
In the USA, some megalomaniacs from the bible belt have their hands one of George W.' balls ... the other is in the hands of Exxon Mobile.
NO. Just kidding. No balls. :-)

As a liberal Christian, I can understand your weariness of the fundamentalist agenda in American politics. However, I don't think there is a lack of scientific comprehension in America. My parents were both doctors who came to America precisely because of its superior scientific training, and vast resources, and outstanding knowledge of procedure, both in the fields of medical breakthroughs and scientific research. "Primitive" is a bit of a stretch.

Its actually really scary how many of them are pulling thier kids out of schools and homeschooling them with only the bible as thier texts.
No science, no chemistry, no history outside of the bible. What is really sad is that these people will never be able to go to school, no college, won't be able to make a decent living in the world simply because they know nothing of the world outside the bible.
The bible is MORAL guide. Not the begining and the end. That is supposed to be Christ.
If Christianity doesn't learn to accept the new truths the Gods are putting before them, they will implode on themselves.

I think that science folks will gravitate to those economies that support research. Most companies actively engage the global economy now, so cultural boundaries and religious fundamentalism will become marginalized... I suspect in less than two generations it won't matter much WHERE you are but how you're connected to the rest of the planet.

I don't think that they will destroy America. I think that eventually with every advance in science, and with every day that passes people will grow more of an understanding of science and the implications of science. No one will notice much of a change in thought processes during the course of our lifetime, but zoom ahead 100 years and we will see what has changed.

So the false indoctrination continues. Don't you realize Christianity knows it is in a fight to stay alive over the next ten years. Just like the religious leader of the past today Christians know ignorance if the only chance they have to keep their archaic beliefs alive.
You have to admit it is a good marketing tool for a religion to usurp the mind of the young.
