Train or tube into town and head for Euston then main line to Milton Keynes (home of the concrete cows)
If you don't want to go via town try the following :-
Tube to Northolt, bus 140 to Harrow & Wealdstone, Silverlink train to Milton Keynes. Journey shoud take about 90 minutes.

Try this:
Greenford -
Train Departs at13:53 Dest: London Paddington Train service by First Great Western Arrive at Paddington 14:18
Paddington Underground using the Hammersmith and City Line/Circille Depart 14:33 Arrive Euston Square (Tube)at 14:42 Then you have to Walk to London Euston - there you can catch the 14:53 Dest: Northampton Silverlink service which should arrive at Milton Keynes Central for 15:35, if you pay a bit more you could catch a Virgin train that also stops at Milton Keynes, but there is not much in the two so save some money!
Total Journey duration 1 hr 42 mins. 3 legs.

Central Line tube Greenford to Oxford Circus and change to the Victoria Line to travel Oxford Circus to Euston. Come upstairs to the main line station and get on a National Rail service to Milton Keynes.

I assume that as you have asked this question on the railway site, you want to make the journey by rail and the detailed driving directions given in another answer are irrelevant.
You have two alternatives:- Travel from Greenford First Great Western station to Paddington. There is a train at 10.53, arr Paddington 11.18. Then catch the tube (Circle line to Euston Square and walk, or Bakerloo Line to Oxford Circus, change to Victoria Line direct to Euston) At Euston you catch a Virgin train to Milton Keynes at 12.05, arr. 12.35.
Alternatively. catch a Central Line tube train from Greenford Underground, change at Oxford Circus on the Victoria Line, then as above

There are plenty of helpful answers here but just a couple of extra tips - you can use Silverlink as well as Virgin trains - cheaper tickets but trains not as swish. From Euston it can take anywhere between 30 mins and an hour an 10 (direct versus every station stop)
If you've not been before then note that MK Central station is not very near anywhere and it is quite a walk to the city centre although all in one straight line.
There is also a stop at Bletchley is your destination is closer to southern MK and at Wolverton for the NE side.
Outside the MK Central station there are taxis and buses but it does pay to know where you are trying to get to as it can be confusing for the stranger - especially getting back again. Enjoy your visit. MK is wonderful.
