We live in a great neighborhood with lots of houses. We did a scavenger hunt. We made a list of things that were in most everybodys house that they would be willing to give away. A piece of dog/cat food, plastic spoon, paper clip for example. Each team had a side of the street. They could only get 2 items from any house. We also said that if we got any negative calls about their behavior they could be eliminated. A few years later we did the same thing but added bonuses to some of the items. Like an extra point if the straw was a bendy type, or if the toothpick was colored.

Most of all have fun.

Something fun for you and your friends. If you have some girly-girls as friends, then you wouldn't want to do paint-ball in the backyard. But maybe something like a trip to a riding park (horseback riding) would be fun for everyone.

Otherwise, I'd say have something in the backyard, with a wading pool for splashing, cool drinks, finger food, and maybe beach-ball volleyball. It's almost summer here in the northern hemi, so it's a great time to be a tom boy!

How about a "Fear Factor" type of party, with edible things of course. Maybe some fried liver or gummy worms dipped in dirt (crushed oreos) you could probley find some good ideas on the web for that type of a party.
