The fact that Christians - who follow the teachings of a man who spent most of his personal (non-sermonizing) time exclusively with other men, who never had sexual intercourse with a woman, and whose closest female friend was an "actress" - revile and condemn homosexuality seems hilariously hypocritical. In light of the time in which he lived, being an asexual, unmarried late 20 something would have been seriously aberrant, as would seducing the sons of the villages and locales he visited to follow him off into the wilderness. Of all Christian writers, he would be the one you would expect to be most vehemently opposed to homosexuality, and yet it's a point he remains silent on. All rote, tradition, and religious hysteria aside, - seriously, does no one else see the possible irony?

There's significant Biblical evidence that at least one of the disciples struggled with homosexuality. In "Rescuing the Bible from Fundamentalism" by the Rt. Rev. John Shelby Spong, D.D., retired bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Newark, he provides an insightful study of the Apostle Paul, and makes the case that Paul, at least, was very likely a homosexual. As Shelby writes, "The value of speculation in this case comes when a theory is tested by assuming for a moment that it is correct and then reading Paul in the light of that theory", but the evidence is there for those who choose to consider it.

To even suggest that He was is a word, blasphemous! The bible states that homosexuality is wrong. Read Leviticus 18: 21 "And you shall not lie with a male ad with a woman. It is an abomination." Jesus was on this earth for a reason, a purpose. He was here to preach to us sinners about God's love and saving grace. He knew his time on earth was limited so He was about "His father's business" and was not interested in the cares of this world. His business was of a higher calling. Study your bible and you will see that this was His mission while on earth. Jesus was here to save people and not seduce them as you are suggesting. That would make Him no better than us poor sinners. He was born without sin so therefore, He could not sin.

Okay, I'm going to try to do this with everything aside: The irony is there. Horribly apparent. But does that make it any less possible? I mean, having a realist mindset here, it's not completely impossible for Jesus not to be homosexual and all while basically living with a dozen+ men all the time. Still, though, it's possible.

Jesus wasn't gay. Don't you think that if you looked back in the history books it would say something about that? I mean really, there are peopleon here stating that they're not sure he was even real. Jesus of Nazareth was a person, he existed. That's that. Lets look at the irony of say, football! Men spend time with a ball chasing eachother, TRYING TO TOUCH eachother, so that they can get them to the ground. One man stands behind another with his hands VERY close to his rear. They all bend over with their hind ends in the air. What does that look like to you? How about hockey! They spend time playing with their sticks with other men! Hmmm, lets see, thats ironic! Jesus had a lot of followers, not just the disciples. What about Mary and Martha? What about Mary Magdalen(sp) who followed him? What about the women he healed? I guess that boys in boy scouts are going to be gay since they spend a lot of time with other boys, huh. And what do you make of the butt slapping that goes on in male sports? How's that for irony? Jesus was straight, and he was blameless and with out sin, since homosexuality is preached as a sin in the bible, how could he have done it, being without sin?

There is also this theory that half of the apostles were women... because they can walk with two but only one is mentioned by name. But that could not be mentioned for other reasons.

Any which way, a good topic for a 1000 year debate, but we'll never know, nor if it matters.

In Matt 19:4 and Mark 10:6 as well as other places Jesus affirms God's design in "creating" male and female. Jesus also affirms God's design for marriage and the family. It was so incredibly important for Jesus to uphold Jewish law. For Him to succeed in everything and fail in that one point would be a disaster. Who would've followed Him then? No, He wasn't gay... after all, He is God.

I can not believe you think something like this, you ought to be a shame. His disciples were male and woman were expected to stay in the background .Even Paul told the woman if they had any questions do not ask in the church but wait until they got home.

first about Jesus. Jesus was divine. He had no reason to battle anything, especially sexual desire. therefore to be asexual was His right. You keep confusing His omnipotence with human qualities. He is God therefore it is an irrelevent speculation.

Regarding Paul, give something to back up your statement please. Also, since paul was human, he could have had homosexual tendencies or even been attracted to men. (i am not agreeing that he was) However, homosexuality is not the sin. Practicing it IS. therefore if paul was homosexual, but never practiced, he was as just as good as you or i, who would love our neighbors mercedes, but do not steal it.

Homosexuality is straight from the devil himself. I do have some serious concerns about you however, what would cause you to ask such an unsavory question. Jesus died for you whether you are willing to accept it or not.

I wonder where your sexual affiliations are? Why is your mind on homosexuality? Are you gay? If you are then you need to ask God for forgiveness because you're headed straight for hell.

I don't even really think he was real. The person described in the Bible is more of a collection of events and emotions, not a person. I mean, there's not even an attempt at a physical description - something that's missing in every other account of ANY remotely historical figure ever.

The fact that he lived so aberrantly (no sex, no female friends, no real family, male followers) seems to fit the "make believe story" theme.

But, yeah, if the Bible is 100% fact, then I think he was probably homosexual. In addition to the other things you listed, he was also extremely concerned about the outcasts of society - something a homosexual man could potentially be if he was outed.

Maybe.Hitler was a closet homosexual, right? The person you least expect, was gay.

Well,if he was,no one can blame him.He was a human just like everybody else and he was supposedly sent by God.

I believe there's a God.I just don't believe Jesus was a greater person.I think religions itself are just for a society to conduct a certain way and for people to follow one belief.

I think it's hilarious when people think I am a sinner because I converted and I don't believe in the Bible.Just because you got your beliefs and just because you got an opinion different than others or you are intellectual than most of the phophets there, then that means I am not a child of God? LOL.
I do think a lot of things are hidden in all that stuff..They contradict themselves a lot of various ways.

Same way Christians hide the fact about they FIRST killed the Muslims in the crusades and hide the fact about THEY killed Socrates.....at least, they don't bring it often. But yet, they know that they were wrong and corrupt. But,they try to conceal all.
That's why I converted.
