I have but one friend.
We are always together.
Hydrogen has only one electron.
Sometimes I float.
Hydrogen can exist as a gas.
Sometimes I sink.
Hydrogen can exist in a metallic state, as it does in the center of gas planets like Jupiter and Saturn (where it also exists as solid(non-metallic) hydrogen as well as gaseous hydrogen)
Many keep my company.
Hydrogen is the most prevelant atom in the universe and is a key ingredient of far too many molecules to list here! So the answer is Hydrogen. Pretty Confusing. I'll be posting more riddles. So get ready.
