Anybody have any other tips for someone who is new to strings? I am familliar with instruments. I play flute, piano, saxophone and piccolo. I have an Esteban guitar and I'm wondering if you can play any genre with a western guitar? The strings are nylon but is it possible to change to steel too?

Also, Do western guitars have a different type of sound then a regular guitar? Does this mean I can play country or whatever and it wouldn't be different? Is there a difference?

You have an Esteban guitar ummm do you like it ? I know someone who bought one, I loved the sound and hated the action, it was harder than any guitar that I've every played and I play classical, it killed my hand and fingers and I'm use to playing. I called the local music store to see if they could do anything about the action and they said don't tell me it's an Esteban, and I said yes, how did you know, and he said everyone who buys one brings it in to have it fixed, then can make them better. As for anything but nylon on a guitar that came with nylon, absolutely no, steel strings would probably wreck your guitar, they are not meant to hold the steel strings.

Don't put steel strings on a guitar built to have nylon. You could easily rip out the bridge because of the increased string tension.

Tuning by piano is considered among the best methods. Use the low E, A, D, G, and B notes that are below middle C and the next E that is just above middle C.

More styles and genres of music are now being played with a guitar and it's not just for rhythm, but lead.

You can also tune up the first string to the E note that is above middle C and then tune as follows, bringing the second string pitch to match the first string as the first step:

xxxx50
xxx40x
xx50xx
x50xxx
50xxxx

x= do not play
0= open string
4 and 5= fret position

as long as you're enjoying solo and you're in the final community of remarkable pitch to your beginning component the variety you're saying will suffice. in my opinion i discover the low E is close to to as low a be conscious as i can sing so I start up with that. on account that I even have various guitars I permit the device relax after pre-stretching the strings. Bend the strings and attempt lower back, they are going to flow flat on the initiating until they get used to the stress. assume a sparkling set to wish re-tuning a time or 2 on the initiating. If there's a music you like which you recognize the unique key you may desire to play that music as a reference. Songs in E or A or G may be easiest. E and A are particularly self explanatory, and the 2nd, third and fourth strings are an open G significant chord. you may oftentimes discover songs on the internet in case you seek the call plus guitar tab.
