STDs caused by bacteria can be treated and cured with antibiotics.

STDs caused by viruses however can NOT be cured. There are medications that can help with outbreaks or symptoms, but there is no cure.

Some bacteria STDs include: syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea, donovanosis, and chancroid

Some viral STDs include: HIV/AIDS, herpes, HPV, hepatitis, and molluscum

There are also a couple STDs caused by parasites. These STDs can also be treated and cured with medication. Pubic lice (crabs), scabies and trichomoniasis are all caused by parasites.

The amount of time it takes to get rid of an STD depends on the STD. Antibiotics are usually fairly cheap. Antiviral medications can be a lot more expensive, especially HIV/AIDS medications.

HIV is not curable at this time.

Genital Herpes while possible to control is not curable and can be spread even when not in a flare.

Genital warts often disappear even without treatment. In other cases, they eventually may develop a fleshy, small raised growth. There is no way to predict whether the warts will grow or disappear.

Depending on factors such as the size and location of the genital warts, a doctor will offer one of several ways to treat them.

* Imiquimod (Aldara®) a topical immune response cream which can be applied to the affected area
* A 20% podophyllin anti-mitotic solution, which can be applied to the affected area and later washed off
* A 0.5% podofilox solution, applied to the affected area but should not be washed off
* A 5% 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) cream
* Trichloroacetic acid (TCA)
* Pulsed dye laser
* Liquid nitrogen cryosurgery
* Electric or Laser cauterization

Chlamydia is the most request of the STDS A single dose of azithromycin or a week of doxycycline are the most commonly used treatments. All sex partners should also be treated to avoid reinfection.

Chancroid treated with antibiotics.

Syphilis, gonorrhea, is treated with antibiotics.

Hepatitis B can be spread by sexual contact. Prevention.... Have a Hep B vaccination.

The best prevention of all of these is not engage in sexual intercourse until you are married to someone who does not have them either.

The statement that Aspirin will cure Syphilis in the early stages is wrong. It Needs An Antibiotic to Cure it

Syphilis can be cured with antibiotics very easily. My first patient fatality was a man with tertiary syphilis --so it is still around and actually making a comeback. HIV is more treatable as different drug regimens have been worked out; but is not curable except in a couple of cases. People do not die directly from AIDS, but from the failure of the Immune system to protect from rare cancers and pneumonia and also herpes infections in the cranial nerves. Do not use needles, or practice unsafe (anal) sex. The drugs to treat HIV are in the $10,000 - $20,000 a year range - the last I heard.

Hi there,

Presently there is no cure for HIV/AIDS but researchers are looking into other forms of treatment such as chemo therapy and radiation.

Regarding other stds it all depends on which type. STDs include just about every kind of infection. Bacterial STDs include chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis. Viral STDs include AIDS, genital herpes, genital warts (HPV) and hepatitis B. Trichomoniasis is caused by a parasite.

If you have chlamydia, your doctor will prescribe oral antibiotics, usually azithromycin (Zithromax) or doxycycline. Your doctor will also recommend your partner(s) be treated as well to prevent reinfection and further spread of the disease. With treatment, the infection should clear up in about a week or two. It is important to finish all of your antibiotics even if you feel better. After taking antibiotics, people should be re-tested to be sure the infection is cured.

There is no cure for genital herpes, but your doctor can prescribe anti-virus medicines, in pill or ointment form, that may help the sores heal faster. Over-the-counter painkillers may help with the discomfort. If recurrences of your genital herpes are frequent, your doctor may prescribe an antiviral medication (Famvir, Valtrex and Zovirax) to take on a regular basis to help suppress the outbreaks.

Genital warts caused by the most common types of HPV often go away on their own without treatment. After you are diagnosed, if you do not have symptoms or cosmetic concerns, you may observe your condition without using treatment. This is called watchful waiting. Experts sometimes differ on how to treat the condition because genital warts often go away without treatment and because treatment does not eliminate the HPV infection. Genital warts caused by the most common types of HPV often go away on their own without treatment. After you are diagnosed, if you do not have symptoms or cosmetic concerns, you may observe your condition without using treatment. This is called watchful waiting. Even if you are treated to remove visible warts or your warts go away without treatment, the HPV infection is not cured; it remains in your body's cells.

Gonorrhea is treated with antibiotics. Antibiotic treatment, if taken exactly as directed, normally cures gonorrhea infections. If antibiotics are not taken properly, the infection will not be cured. Prompt antibiotic treatment also prevents the spread of the infection and decreases the risk of complications, such as pelvic inflammatory disease (PID).
Avoid any sexual contact while you are being treated for an STD. People taking a single dose of medication should not have any sexual contact for 7 days after treatment so the medication will have time to work.

Hope this helps to clarify a bit for you.

Cheers.

I got clinically diagnosed with herpes virus (type 2) about six yrs ago, when I was still in college and had a stupid one-night stand. I know a lot of young ladies will say this, but I swear I had certainly not done that sort of thing before. I just made a huge mistake that one time and all of a sudden I felt like I was going to have to live with the implications for my entire life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. In the end, who wants to go out with someone who has sores around her private parts? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/jKV73 everything changed.

Not only was I able to clear away all remnants of the herpes simplex virus from my system in less than three weeks, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so fortunate to write that just last week, in front of everybody in a packed restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!! This program gave me back the chance to be happy and experience real love. Now I want to help you too by sharing this with the World.

There is a 'cure' for most strains of syphyllis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia [ NOT aspirin! Where do people get this crap info from? ]
Some forms are resistant to treatment, and have to be treated again with a different antibiotic.
No cure yet for :
AIDS
HIV
HPV
HERPES
hepatitis
These can be treated to prevent symptoms, progression, and
flare-ups, but NOT cured. All your partners need to be notified, and treated; all your children will be at risk.

Most STD when treated early, need only antibiotics

The human viruses , HIV, HPV, and the like, medication may have success for one person, others maybe will need long term care, to keep it manageable.
