People are usually infected by both organisms at the same time. So you should be treated for both. The doctor can give you one shot of Ceftriaxone and Azithromycin. This is effective and is way less hassle than having to take something for a week.

In the case of TB, patients stop taking the drugs before they are cured. This allows the bacterium to adapt. Much of the problem with other organisms is the huge amount of antibiotics feed to farm animals
