Yes, most of the time herpes is dormant or "hidden" in a person's body. The only time you can tell if someone has herpes is by actually seeing sores when that person is experiencing an outbreak.

Herpes can be spread though whether there is an outbreak present or not. I personally contracted genital herpes from a guy who had no signs or symptoms of the virus (like an outbreak).

And, herpes can be transmitted from the mouth to the genitals and vice versa. If a person has cold sores and gives another person oral sex, the person receiving can develop genital herpes. Also, if a person has genital herpes and someone else gives them oral sex, the person giving can develop cold sores.

Both herpes simplex virus 1 and 2 are responsible for cold sores and genital herpes. Cold sores however, are usually caused by herpes simplex virus 1, while genital herpes are usually caused by herpes simplex virus 2.

For question #1. Yes it is true, if a person is infected with herpes and they are not having an out break (sores) then it is very difficult to tell if this person has herpes. However the virus can still be transmitted when there are no sores present.

To answer your second question, Yes you can become infected if you perform oral sex on someone that has herpes..It has been reported that 70% of people get herpes when there partner showed no signs or symptoms of the virus.. If you want to perform oral sex, on someone with herpes or without, just use dental dam it will lower the risk of you catching anything. Just some food for thought, did you know that you can catch anything in the mouth that you can catch in the genital area.

The answer to question #1 is yes, herpes outrbreaks come and go. Sometimes a herpes suffer will show no signs at all from herpes.

I'm not sure about question #2, except to say., a herpes sufferer can show no signs of herpes but can still be contagious. There is no sure fire way of avoiding herpes if your partner is infected.

I got identified with herpes (type 2) about 5 years ago, when I was still in college and had a dumb one-night stand. I understand lots of people say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a mistake that one time and all of a sudden it seemed like I was going to have to live with the implications for the rest of my life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date men again. In the end, who wants to go out with a girl who has sores round her "you know what" area? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/lp8KQ everything got better.

Not only was I able to remove all remnants of the hsv from my body in less than 3 weeks, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so fortunate to write that just last week, in front of everyone in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!!! This program gave me back the chance to be happy and experience real love again. Now I hope that I can help others by sharing this story.

RE: If ninety% of humans have oral herpes by means of the age of forty why is oral intercourse nonetheless practiced? What are the dangers of transmitting the disorder by way of oral intercourse if one parter has oral herpes and the opposite does no longer.

Herpes is something you will always have once infected, but it's not always spreadable. When the personis having an out break is when you can catchit and you can catch it thru oral sex. I don't think it's possible to catch it when they don't have bumps.

My cousin's husband had it, so that's where my info comes from.
