I am on antibiotics, but not being able to taste is driving me nuts! I have never had a sinus infection before, and it's definintely making me feel yucky. Any pointers on how to get through this?

Yes, get yourself a Netty Pot, or saline nose wash, it is a way to evacuate your sinus cavity with salt water, it works.

Check your diet too, eliminate dairy and coffee and sugary foods immediately. Those aggravate sinus problems. After you are finished with the antibiotic, you have to introduce healthy intestine flora, since it is usually compromised after antibiotics. You can easily do this with a good yogurt (no sugars, fruit) daily. Then you can bump it up a notch by getting some probiotics from the health food store. I suggest Ultimate Flora (50 Billion) by Renew Life.

Sinus infections are caused by; air pollution, poor diet and lack of good intestine flora, exposure cold dry air.

Make sure you finish all of your antibiotics or you will get sick again.

As the infection goes away your sense of smell will return. To help speed the process just drink some warm tea or coffee. The warm moist liquid helps to sooth the swollen sinus cavities.

Good luck.

Good luck on that. I have had an infection for over a month. I have forgotten what my taste are like. I have been to the DR and nothing seems to help. My pointer to you is ....just deal with it. I am.
