Making the decision on a new car and have narrowed it down to VW Golf Comfortline 2.0 FSI and Honda Civic Sport, however am concerned about the on-going prices for maintaining these cars and can't find any information. Can anyone give me info on the costs associated with either of these cars such as repairs, regular servicing, etc? Some people suggest that the VW would be more expensive but I can't find any info to support this.

I'm in Australia so the Golf is still the Golf, not the Rabbit. And also we don't have the GTi model here, the best we have is the 2.0 Sportsline.

I would go with gti definitely.
It is a European car.

Not sure where you are but the VW Golf is now called the VW Rabbitt in the US (and the VW GTI is the two-door performance version of this car).

I would go with the Civic. You just can't beat Honda for value.
