Okay...I go to Emmaus Church Community in Lincoln, California and the Pastor's son, Isaiah, has ACL, and if you don't know what this is it's Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia and it sounds like the next 30 days are the most critical; it all depends on how he takes his first chemo treatment.

I know this isn't really a question and frankly, I don't care. I am just asking that you pray for him.

His name is Isaiah Oates. He is only four years old.

Please pray for him...Please put him on your church's prayer list...he needs all the help he can get.

I'm glad you are asking for prayer. I shall definitely pray for him. I know many who are dealing with cancer, and many of them are getting through it. With God, all things are possible!

My Grandmother (a Christian) was diagnosed with a severe form of cancer, and the doctors only gave her, at most, six months to live---on top of the severity level of the cancer, she was an extremely fragile person. My family and grandmother were sitting in our church some time after her diagnosis. Now, neither my family nor I believe in healing through human capability, but ONLY THROUGH THE POWER OF GOD. During the service, the pastor suddenly stopped and stated that there was a woman sitting in the church who was not a member of the church, (my Grandmother had come to stay at our house just a few weeks before---she actually lived out of the country at the time---the pastor speaking was a visitng pastor---he did not know anyone in the church except for the pastor who had invited him to speak). He stated that she had been dealing with severe cancer, that she lived overseas, and that God was going to deliver her of cancer (it was colon cancer, by the way, which the pastor specifically stated). My Grandmother went forward and allowed the pastor to pray for her. (My Grandmother was also a heavy smoker---the pastor also said that God was going to deliver "this woman" of smoking---when she heard that, my Grandmother almost did not go forward---she said, "I don’t want to stop smoking!"---naturally, my parents told her, "GO UP THERE!" : )

Anyway, my parents took my Grandmother to her doctor sometime later that week. After running oodles of tests, the doctor stated, "This is not the same woman. Um, I mean, she, is, but, she's not. Her body looks completely healthy--there is no sign of cancer whatsoever."

Now, note that my Grandmother did not just have one doctor check her. She had a myriad of doctors run tests on her, and all gave the same report---the cancer was too severe for ANY hope to be held out whatsoever.

Obviously, not all prayers are answered in that manner, or that dramatically, but I just wanted to share this with you---maybe you can share that story with your pastor. My family and I have witnessed many miracles of healing.

I strongly encourage you to get your pastor to read Fighting Death and Other Desperate Battles by Dr. Peter Wyns.
It's not just some lark. I truly believe it is vital for your pastor to read it. It is not some weird book. It is completely Christian, grounded in the Bible. It deals with the power of prayer. I would encourage you to read it, too, even if you are not going through anything like this right now.

Below is a description of the book.

"Every one faces death and some beat it. From a certain death and tragedy comes unbelievable recovery. From hopeless diagnosis comes a report so incredible that everyone fighting for life should read it. Too many give up without fighting, often because they lack the knowledge of how to win. Against all odds Clarice Holden, armed with faith, fought a battle and saved the life of her husband. She would not go into the night quietly. Neither should you."

God bless you, and I shall pray for little Isaiah, as will my family.

Yes, we shall definitely pray for his family, as well. My family and I recently went through a long ordeal dealing with my Aunt and some serious health issues, to put it mildly. We have been through many circumstances of this vein. I have two aunts who are cancer survivors...that's just the beginning...we know how tough this all is. Jeremiah 29:11. We shall pray. God bless you, too, for putting this out there.

Yes, I will pray for him. I once had a friend that had this problem. I didn't know enough to pray for him then and I am not sure he was a Christian.

I have a feeling that Isaiah is a Christian (even at 4 yrs old), and that someone is looking after him. Our christian children are such a blessing to us.

I will be praying for you as well, I think God is using Isaiah in some way to work on your heart. I don't know everything that's going on but just understand that God is in control and things will work out to the good for those that are in Christ Jesus and called to his purpose.

You need to be prepared in case Isaiah does not win this battle. I said all things work to the good, I did not say all things work the way we want them to. I will pray that God's will be done and not our own will. Isaiah will be fine no matter what happens, you will be also.

Yours in Christ,
Clay

P.S. My friend was my brother in law and my best friend at the time, he did not win that battle. I hope to see him in heaven. I guess we should see the importance in telling others about Christ so that these battles and not so bad, when you know him you have a win, win situation.

You might be wondering why God allows children to be born with serious physical and mental defects or to develop these? God does not cause such defects. He created the first human pair perfect, with the ability to bring forth perfect children in their own likeness- Gen. 1:27,28 We have inherited sin from Adam. That inheritance carries with it the potential for physical and mental defects. (rom.5:12) This inheritance of sin is with us from the time of conception in the womb. It is for that reason that king david wrote: In sin my mother conceived me." Ps 51:5 iF ADAM HAD NOT SINNED, THERE WOULD BE ONLY DESIRABLE TRAITS TO TRANSMITT. Jehovah lovingly extends to children the benefits of Christ ransom sacrifice. 1 Cor. 7:14 Ps 119:9; 148:12,13 acts 16:1-3

It is a question and I think most people of any faith should be only too happy to say a prayer for this little boy. I know I did and I hope it helps.

As a fellow Christian it is My Duty and make a prayer of Healing as it is written in Isaiah 53 verses 5, 10b,11; and Isaiah 54:17
That He was wounded for our transgressions, and bruised for our inquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him and by His stripes We Are HEALED; He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His Hand. He shall see the labor of His soul and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous servant shall justify many For He shall bear their iniquities. No weapon formed against young Isaiah shall prosper. And everytongue that rises up in judgement You shall condemn. And His righteousness is of Me saith the Lord. Amen.
