Always found doctors to be rubbish dealing with back pain, but i find either a Chiropractor, or a sports physiotherapist has always done me good. Best advice, see a doc first, but if no joy try the others. Only problem, you will have to pay.

Hi there, I started suffering from back pain when I was about your age (now nearly 30!!) and I can tell you honestly that I wish I had sorted it out then and not now. I don't know if you do any/much exercise but this is likely to be a lot of the root cause of your back pain. A lot of people these days just don't do any or enough exercise and as a result they aren't strengthening their muscles in all of their lower body that help to protect and strengthen the back.
You need to take up some excercise.
If you already do excercise then - if you go to your doctor he will refer you to a physiotherapist OR an osteopath. This could be free if you get it on the NHS which given your age, you should. But otherwise you would pay to see someone privately. They will massage/manipulate your back in various ways to help to relieve your pain and may give you back execrises to strengthen your back - but remember this is not dealing with the root cause of the problem merely trying to releive the problem.
The sooner you do something about it the better - you only have one back so you need to look after it! Or later in life you could end up with all sorts of problems, sciatica, trapped nerves, slipped discs.
I hope that doesn't happen to you - it costs a fortune to get it sorted privately but that is what I have to do!

I agree with exercise I was in really bad pain for at least 7 years - many Dr's - shots - nerves burnt - disk o gram (painful
to say the least) and I decided to get a second job because I
don't like setting around and starting slow on lifting and bending and stuff I can now do anything I want and am painfree. I was so bad I had to get down onto the floor in
order to pick something up even a few folded towels!!!!
Start walking and start slow. Accupuncture didn't help either.
Wish I had all the money back I spend on Dr's.

Have you had an injury to your back? The best I could say is go to a doctor and get scanned to see if you may have a disk out of aliment. Since it effects your right hip you may have a disk that's moved over to that side. If the doctor doesn't see a disk out of aliment and rules out any spinal cord type of injury or injury to your spine you'll probably be given pain killers and muscle relaxers if its a muscle injury and if its bad enough physical therapy also. And you could get tested for Ankylosing Spondylitis, Discitis, Osteoporosis, Sacroiliitis
Arachnoiditis, these are all inflammatory type and infections that effect the back and hips. It also could be your pelvis is tilted so just get checked by a doctor and if his answer doesn't satisfy you have him test for some of the things I've listed.

My husband suffered from lower back pain for 20 years!
He went to chiropractorsetc and finally a shiatsu practitioner. The problem was his hips were out of allignment, he had a couple of massage treatments and some pressure points on his toes squeezed. He felt a tremendous difference, although the day after he was in a lot of pain. He saw the shiatsu man a few times and has never looked back since.
Maybe give this a try and see what they have to say, who knows you hips may be out of allignment too!!!

No he would not say you were wasting his time
at 14 you may be doing damage to your spinal cord that will only get worse with age
first course of action he will recommend is physiotherapy I should think
Dropping painkillers is not the answer they only hide the pain they don't heal it and they can cause problems of their own if taken regularly
Get on the phone and book an appointment to see the quack do it sooner rather than later that back of your is a big part of your future look after it
I wish I had mine cost me 20 years of my working life
Do now mate don't put it off and don't be afraid of it needing surgery this is a Very last resort and rarely comes to that sort of treatment
Good Luck

Your problem is more likely caused by lack of stretch of the back of your legs , tightening in the ham string due to walking a lot and standing too much having fun try to stretch the back your legs after 10 minuets walk , stand straight your posture relaxed breath in while you stretch your arms up , pull your tummy in and bend your right knee while you bring your arms down for support breath out, and stretch your left leg forward , your toes pointing up keep your tummy in to give support to your back you should feel the stretch in the back of your leg repeat with the right leg , try to bend gently with your knees every time you want to bend let your thighs and tummy muscle take the weight not your lower back ,you should go to agym learn how to stretch all your muscle remember a stretch worked out muscle becomes a happy strong muscle, swimming is also good to stretch and strengthen your body muscle

Back pain can be treated by doing simple exercises and YOGA ( if u know about it). If you sit in front of a computer for long you could get back pain. Like all partsof the body , the back also should be used properly. Crouching or sitting in bad postures gives you back pain. Try to sit erect. Exercise. Prevention is better than cure.

You would not be wasting the doctor's time. They get paid to diagnose things like this. I suggest you tell your parents what's going on and have them make an appointment for you.
