Am i considered a vegetarian or a vegan? I thought I was a vegetarian but then I realized I eat vegan foods....any code ingredients in the following?



what i eat:
brown rice
brocolli
peas
spinach
bananas
strawberries
tofu
peanut butter
almonds
flaxseeds
whole grain bread
yogurt(soy)
mona vie
shredded wheat
soy milk

You are only vegan if you avoid all animal products..this includes honey, dairy, eggs and ingredients made from those items. Since I don't know your whole diet, I can't give you an answer. Lots of people eat vegan friendly foods but that does not make them necessarily vegan.

What you listed off seems to be vegan, but I'd check for milk and egg ingredients in the bread.

Vegetarian means you don't eat meat. Vegan means you don't eat any animal product, including milk, eggs, cheese, butter, that sort of thing. Some vegans don't eat honey or jello as well.

From your list, I would say vegan, however, if you eat eggs, any dairy product you would be considered vegetarian. I'm hoping your diet is more varied than only what you listed. Remember......to get complete protiens, different legumes and grains should be eaten together. Nuts supply adequate amounts of fat, and did you know.............when you boil whole flax seeds, the reduced liquid can act as a binding agent close to eggs, for making tofu/oatmeal patties or loafs.

First off, it's a myth from over 60 years ago that you need to combine foods to get complete proteins. As long as you get enough calories and eat various types of foods, you need to worry about ANY sort of combining.

Secondly, it looks like your diet might be strict vegetarian. However, a vegan would choose to obtain from purchasing wool, leather, silk, honey, and any products tested on animals or containing animal ingredients. Least harm philosophy.

Yes, that would be vegan as long as there is no egg or milk in your bread. You can add a whole load of variety to your diet. Try cous cous, quinoa, millet, mashed potato made with veggie stock or rice milk, bean and lettuce tacos with corn or flour tortillas, green peppers stuffed with rice or quinoa pilaf, veggie kebabs grilled with vegan bbq sauce, etc. You can make tasty vegan muffins with quinoa flour and flakes. Try nutritional yeast (not brewers or bakers) to make a mock cheese sauce to put over veggies such as cauliflower, brocolli or potatoes. Rice pasta makes a nice change (I like Tinkyada brand) Try some homemade veggie soups (the stock makes a nice flavor enhancer for rice or quinoa. Good luck, and WAY TO GO!!

Breast milk isn't 'dairy'. It's natural to the human body, unlike cow's milk. No objections whatsoever. Breast milk is excellent for infants! Our requirement of milk during everyday life is just weird. 'Milk' is provided by the mother at birth to help us grow, to make us strong. We've all been indoctrinated by media to consider milk with our coffee, milk with our cereal, milk in our pancakes etc. In reality, milk isn't there in nature for us to do that as adults. Coconut milk and other nut milks are fine, it's just our reliance on 'milky' stuff that is so weird!

Check the brand of peanut butter you use some of the peanut butter brands contain lard which is animal fat! How come you left out beets, pumpkin, oranges, grapes, coconut milk, wax beans, corn, squash, lettuce? What type of soap do you use for washing yourself, clothes and dishes is it made from animal or plant oils?

Vegans also don't wear animal products like leather,suede.If you have ones that you bought before you went vegan,then that is fine,but if you keep buying new leather products then you are not vegan.

I thought -I- was doing the vegan issue, too...

Then I saw the bread I eat has milk in it. Check your bread. ...Otherwise? Yeah, you've gone vegan. Sounds absolutely fantastic, too!

Yes, your a vegan. You just have to be careful what ingredients are in the bread. Also, don't where leather or suede.
