Cold sores appear on the lips and in the outer corners of the mouth.

If you have bumps or sores on the inside or your mouth and on your tongue they are probably either canker sores, mouth ulcers, or inflamed taste buds.

Good luck!

If you are getting a cold sore then yes you have herpes... Did your doctor do a blood test or just inspect your mouth. Sometimes it takes your body longer to produce antibodies. I haven't really heard of anyone getting bumps on there tongue, however if it is the initial outbreak, than it is possible, Do you feel sick? Like you have the flu, these are all symptoms of having herpes. Maybe you should go see another Dr.
Good luck..

any cold sore on the lips or mouth is a form of herpes and if you give oral sex while having these sores you can transmit it to the genital area. herpes can be detected during the time of the outbreak. sometimes you will get a neg. result because it has progressed in it's cycle. keep a log of when you have sores or feel flu like symtoms, as these are the first signs to herpes. always remember you can transmit herpes even if you are not having an outbreak so always be safe!! wear protection every time! and the best way not to get herpes is not to have sex at all.
