What are you putting the fortunes IN? I hope you have little plastic containers or something that won't become a choking hazard. If you don't put the fortunes in a container, they will just go soggy and be unreadable, and I don't think people want to get THAT KIND of fiber in their diet! And if the containers are too small, you take the chance that some unfortunate individual is going to forget all about it, and end up trying to swallow it.
Why don't you print your fortunes on doilies instead (if you practise calligraphy, so much the better), and serve each individual brownie on one of them? That way people get their fortunes, and unpolluted yummy brownies at the same time.

"the wise lumberjack always carried a sharp axe" was one i got one time. not quite appropriate for a bake sale... but how about "someone will soon be sharing your warmth", or "life is like a good book: the further you get into it, the more it makes sense". you could throw in some funny ones like "confucius say eat more brownies!" :)
