I have had heart palpitations for years and they never bothered me. Within the last year or so they seem to have got worse. I feel slightly grogy and dizzy after them. I also can get slight chest pain. I also get slight chain pain and grogyness if a do a lot of exercise.
I have seen a heart consutant who has carried out no less than 6 tests so far: ECG, blood test, chest X ray, heart echo, treadmill test and 24 hour heart monitor. He can find nothing wrong with any of the tests.
I do suffer from a little anxiety so I'm wondering if these feelings are just put down to anxiety.
I've recently lost a stone in weight so I feel I lot better in myself but still get these palpitations and problems.
Would anyone have any ideas?
Thanks.
Andy

I have the same problem when I'm under stress. I get palpatations, light headed, shaking, my chest hurts, etc. I go to the doctor when it worries me, he gave me a prescription for an anxiety med. Aspirin may also help, and of course, trying to relax.
None of these have helped me (I mention them because they may help you), what has helped me is getting alot of sleep, even taking 1/2 a muscle relaxer has relieved the symptoms. I think for your own safey, you should still see your doctor if you have bad anxiety, you don't want to take chances w/ your health.

You've had an appropriate evaluation by your doctor so far; the most important question is whether you had the palpitations while you were wearing the monitor. If so, make sure your doctor looks at the rhythm for that specific time; if there was no rhythm disturbance while you were having the symptom, that's the end of it - you don't have a rhythm problem, and it may well be anxiety. If you don't have the symptoms every day, and didn't have them while wearing the monitor, then the normal results don't really mean anything. If you're concerned, there's a different kind of heart monitor that you wear for 30 days or so (called an event monitor or loop recorder) that's more likely to pick up a rhythm problem. Again, unless you have the symptom while wearing a monitor, your doctor has no way of knowing whether it's caused by a heart problem or not (although the lack of structural heart disease on all your other tests is reassuring).

Could definitely be palpitations due to anxiety. it is common when you worry or have a lot of stress. Also caffeine can do it. You should do a 24 hour holter test to rule out any other heart problems and have your blood pressure checked a few times a day. Great that you lost the weight. Keep confident.
Good Luck

Palpitation means the consciousness of the heart beats ! It may be normal and may be because of some disease ! The first thing is hyperthyroidism means more thyroid hormones and some heart disease like supra ventricular tachycardia so if your cardiac doctor has found everything normal than go for thyroid test and i think it may come positive as you have lost your weight also !T3 T4 and TSH in blood plus hemoglobin and blood sugar also ! It may be because of your anxiety if it is there ! Always YouRsmE

I have heart palpitations from sinus tachycardia and anxiety and I can tell you a low dose of zoloft (50-100mgs) and atenolol (50mgs-am and pm) do well for me. It takes about 7-10 days to get regulated on the zoloft and about the same for the atenolol. Good luck!

You could consult with an arrythmia specialist. My cardio had me diagnosed with SVT and I went to the arrythmia specialist and he said I had abnormal tachycardia.
If you can't get results, I would recommend some counseling and meds to lower your anxiety if that is the problem.

Heart palpitaions is one of the symptoms of cardiac diseases.......try to consult your doctors.......every 6 months....
if u want, try to take nitroglycerin and place it under your tongue during the attack of palpitaions....it relieves the palpitaions and pain usually.......
