Shock the pond with a small generator. The fish will be stunned, and float to the top. Remove any offending fish with a dip net. The others will revive, and be fine. You won't get them all, but if your aim is to "thin out", this should work.
Do what ever you want with the catch, but fish make great fertilizer for you gardens.

you wouldnt want to try to get rid of the grass carp.
i know humans are dominant species by changing the
enviroment so it could fit their needs.
im not saying that you are one of those pplz.
...
how about build another place where the xtras can live?
try someplace that has not been taken
or ask your commnity if you can build up a pond for them.
the last thing you want to do, though, is kill them or
give them away b/c u nvr know what the new owner
does to take care of it.

How do you feel about cats? I suspect grass carp are very hardy and prolific. You may have to purge your pond.

catch them and sell them. there are always people looking for grass carp for their ponds or lakes.
also you can stock with other fish like bluegill which tend to spawn fast and limit the growth of other species.
good eatin to!

no longer TASTY? sturdy GRIEF! as long as they are caught in sparkling water they are literally very tasty, yet there's a secret to precise preparing them. Fillet them as you may the different fish, then decrease off the floor and scales. below the floor you will come across a layer of dark crimson, very nearly blood-colored, meat. decrease all of it off and throw it away. After which you would be left with very effective, thick, meaty, white fillets. Breaded and deep-fried, they are as sturdy as any catfish you have ever had. @edit - sorry black knight, i've got cooked it the two techniques. The crimson flesh chefs up gray and scents like manure, tastes muddy. Take my be conscious for it persons, the crimson flesh desires to be thrown away.

Why not when you catch them give them away there are alot of people who eat them. Also if you know others who have had moss take over their ponds offer them to them . You would be saving your pond and theirs

Give it to someone with a mossy pond. They love that stuff.

Tilapia?
If you and your friends can`t get them to go for hook and bait, get a net or weir and drive them in.
