I assume that you are asking whether or not there is an effect on eyesight in patients with type 2 diabetes. The answer is yes - but not all patients with diabetes devleop problems with their eyesight. Indeed - diabetes is the leading cause of blindness in the United States. Diabetes - even if well controlled - often leads to damage to the retina which is the back of the eye. Typical changes include the production of new blood vessels and subsequent bleeding. Diabetes may also affect the lens of the eye leading to cataracts. Removing cataracts is a simple surgical procedure. Retinal bleeding is generally treated with one of several types of lasers but even if the bleeding stops some damage remains. Although diabetic retinopathy may occur in diabetics whose glucose is well controlled - strict or 'tight' control of glucose decreases the incidence of retinal damage. Diabetics are advised to have a retinal exam by an ophthamologist yearly.

I'm type 2 (B) as you put it if my sugar level is high my sight blurs but just had an eye test and my eyes are fine only use reading glasses but both types of diabetes can affect eye sight we just have a different test each year from people who don't have diabetes it involves drops in the eyes so the optician can examine the eyes properly to make sure they are healthy this happens along side a normal eye test hope this helps to answer it for you
