Transmission is caused by close oral, anal, or genital contact, including intercourse, masturbation, kissing, or any direct skin-to-skin contact which allows for the transfer of bodily fluids.
A person is considered contagious when prodromal symptoms, active sores, and healing lesions are present.
Herpes is potentially contagious when no symptoms are present. That is, a person who has genital herpes is potentially always shedding active virus.
Approximately 1 in 6 members of the general infected population is thought to shed active virus occasionally without symptoms.

If she has herpes simplex 1 (HSV1=oral herpes) and she has an outbreak in her mouth or has asymptomatic shedding in her mouth at the time she preforms oral sex than you are at a high risk of contracting HSV2 (genital herpes) on your genitals.
If you/they kissed while she has an outbreak or is shedding than he is likely to get an outbreak on his mouth (usually 14days after) the tissues in/around the mouth and genitals are thin and mucousy enough to easily be suseptable for contracting this virus, and one should always take precautions.
Also if she gives you a back massage, dont let her sit with no panties on your lower back area, because her juices can seep into the skin in that area and if shes contagious at the time you with get outbreaks on that area of your back-----true story this happened to someone I knew from his ex-girlfriend.

If she had herpies in her mouth, then i assume she's most likely going to give it to the guy. if she didnt have any breakouts, theres less chance of passing it on, but the guy can definitely still get it!

herpes is herpes is herpes. it doesn't matter if it's in the genitals, on the lips, in the eyes..... use the antiviral meds to reduce outbreaks, understand that it is contagious, and always use a condom.
