I feel that I have to get to know a person an access their character before I can tell them something so personal. I would like to know how others have dealt with herpes in their relationships. Do you only date other people with herpes? When did you tell? How did people react when you tell them? I think it would be ideal to meet a mate with herpes as well. I wouldn't want to spread it but I don't do internet dating. So I what I want to know is, how has herpes affected your dating life?

Hell yeah I have. I have had it for 8 yers now (since I was 16) it's not a big deal. It affected my dating life in the beginning cause I didn'tknow enough about herpes to make my partners feel comfortable about it, I wasn't even comfortable with myself. Once I did my homework I was able to spit some serious game and still keep my partners properly informed. People are alot more open minded about it then you'd imagine. I too have herpes and don't know how to cope. When my baby was about 5 or 6 months old the father told me I gave it to him. He was the last person I was with and that was more than 2 years ago; 3 years this come Thanksgiving. I take sexual intercourse more seriously now. When ever I meet someone I think he only wants to get into my panties but only if he really knew. Lately I guess because I am afraid of getting close with someone I would tell them I have herpes before we even meet. The results from this is better than actually deceiving him and then passing it on to him. I wish I had the choice like I give others, but there is nothing I can do about it now. I thank God I do not have HIV and AIDS. My baby's father is now married to someone else I can only imagine how he got her to accept him with herpes.
