I second the hardware store, this is where I buy it when I need it.
Specifically, if these laterns are made for kerosene then it best to use only kerosene in them. Kerosene is a lot less volatile than other petroleum based fuels, substitution with a more volatile fuel could be dangerous.

Camping lanterns are a must-have item for campers who plan to spend evenings under the stars. Once the sun goes down, these lanterns are essential for lighting the campsite, both inside and outside the tent.
Camping lanterns generally fall into two categories. Although there are other alternatives to these more popular models, battery powered camping lanterns and fuel powered camping lanterns are the two most common types for campers to choose from.

Some lanterns offer more light, while others offer greater degree of safety, which should be considered if small children will be near the lantern. Also, fuel powered lanterns are not recommended for use inside of a tent.

Use Charcoal starting fluid. Burns cleaner, brighter, comes in its own can and you can get it anywhere. Actually Kerosene is bad for Kerosene lanterns (lots of maintenance)

You should be able to get it at a hardware store, or most sporting goods stores.
