Why on earth should you feel sick when I see someone eating meat?
I don't think I have ever met you.

I'm a vegan and while it doesn't bother me as much as it clearly does you to see people eating meat yes I do try and find something else to look at.
The smell of cooking meat is what gets me more-especially if it's being cooked plain (no herbs or spices to cover the smell)-the burning flesh smell makes me feel a bit sick.It goes away after a few seconds though.
Seeing meat for sale in stores disturbs me a bit too.
The sad fact is that there are so many more omnivores than vegetarians and vegans that we just have to learn to live with it.

Depending on what is is, how it smells, whether I can see it, how much it resembles the animal, etc. yes, it sometimes makes me feel a bit ill. Not really something I can control, but it happens. If it does, I avert my eyes a little, or breathe a bit different so I smell it less, if I can shift away a bit without seeming rude, I might do that. The reason I try to not be rude is that I'm avoiding the sight or smell for my own personal discomfort (doesn't prevent or cause meat to be eaten or animals to be killed, right?), and I extend that same courtesy of comfort to my meat-eating friends, fellow travelers, etc.
I'm disappointed in a couple of things here, one being the large number of people (mostly meat-eaters) commenting and saying you are preaching, sick, judging, whining, etc. when your question itself was a valid one, and apparently intended for a vegetarian audience. There's no shame in just saying meat makes you feel ill, or asking if others feel the same. People are disgusted by broccoli or mushrooms for less, and no one gets mad for them stating that.
But I'm also disappointed in your last sentence, saying that the people themselves are gross. That's not going to help anything, or endear more people to the cause, it may even do the opposite by furthering the stereotype of vegetarians being jerks to meat-eaters. And it partially justifies the meat-eaters making rude comments back. I hope you don't say things like that or act disgusted towards people in real life. We can do better and work to make that stereotype 100% wrong. :) Good luck!

Ashley I am a vegetarian, I eat living things, when I eat many vegetables they are alive, when I cook many vegetables they are alive, who is to say that plants do not suffer?
Unfortunatly due to the horrible factory farming methods, many of the animals killed for food are better of dead, than in the disgusting conditions men have kept them in. Ducks in dark sheds without water to swim in, chickens crowded in large sheds, and fed antibiotics to force them to put on so much weight they have trouble standing they are very young birds forced to be much bigger than they should be.
I don't share your disgust of other people eating meat, I am disgusted by the way the animals are treated for the meat industry though.
I hope you can eventually see the situation with more acceptance of other people choices, and less disgust. Many animals eat animals, and humans are animals, and vegetarianism is a choice.

Meat turns my stomach a bit...I can stand being around chicken if it's not on the bone. The smell of fish though, especially tuna, gag! I also get sick from the sight and smell of eggs, pickles and ketchup for various reasons. I have a lot of issues with food.

I used to be that way too and I still am kinda but here in Sucktown, USA, hardly anyone even cares about animals and they don't care that they're eating dead animal....so I guess I'm used to it. It's still sad though...I can't believe that out of all the people I know, I only know one vegetarian, and she hates animals....she only does it for health reasons...sad sad sad

I was sick after I read a book about becoming a Vegan. I get so sick to my stomach when I smell restaurants cooking meat. When I see people eating it, I just feel so sorry for them and really can't watch them, my eyes are else where.
I am trying to get used to it, accepting the fact that people have no idea, and even if they did, some wouldn't do anything about it. It's sad, but nothing I can do for them.

I can understand why you yourself have a problem with putting meat into your own body but why judge everyone else? I eat meat but I really don't like eating things that still have the appearance of an animal (lobster in the shell, a whole fish, a whole chicken, etc.).
But think about it, it's the food chain. What do animals eat in the wild? They actually eat RAW meat...disgusting but obviously necessary. We are also animals and I'm sorry to say it but we need protein to stay healthy. It is possible to be healthy and a vegeterian but it is just more work. We have been eating meat since the beginning of time..it's not going to change.

I guess people like you would let millions of people die in lands were meat is available but few things grow.
Your choice of life style is yours and yours alone good luck too you. But to preach to others that you are better than I, is just sickening.
You give the good people who are veggies/vegans a bad name and I hope you are proud of this fact.

No. I am fine. I even cook meat for other people. As long as I don't eat it then I am fine.
