My symptoms are a harsh cough, that doesn't seem to go away like i can't catch my breath to get enough air. I have mucus constantly in my throat and i can spit it out and sometimes it almost looks like there is chunks in there but it is a greenish color and my chest feels weird, it doesn't hurt but it almost feels like someone is just pushing down with their fingers, just annoying and you notice it. any help would be appreciated

It sounds like bronchitis to me, but you can only be certain if you go to the doctor and have them tell you.

You probably do have bronchitis but you have all the symptoms of a lung infection which needs to be treated by a doctor. You never mentioned if you had a sinus problem, cold or otherwise but constantly coughing is usually bronchitis. I am a lung patient for years and have found that with bronchitis by mistake or even just when it flares up to gulp down room temperature Pepsi not coke and it has to be room temp. This helps you stop coughing for a period without all the drugs that never really work and you can breathe better. You still need to see a doctor for antibiotics and possibly other meds needed. I found out about the room temperature Pepsi 30 years ago with my chronic bronchitis and I had to wait tables. I grabbed the Pepsi from the fountain and was able to keep working. This has been the cough syrup always kept in my house. Other suggestion to relieve some of the pressure you feel of tightness of the chest take a warm bath and rub a deep heating muscle rub like Ben gay etc. Vicks does help you breathe better but the deep heat rub helps all of it, lasts a longer time and you will get much more relief. I have used this to get through pneumonia many times and my kids rid their colds away in a couple of days. Hope you feel better but go see the doctor.

it sounds like that is a very good possibility. the greenish phlegm could also be the sign of an infection such as pneumonia or bacterial bronchitis or even a sinus infection. all of which won't improve without antibiotic treatment. have you tried any cough syrups with guafesinen or a vaporizer? Vicks is also something that might evens your symptoms. but again, i encourage you to see your family physic an or go to an urgent care clinic or an er for a chest xray and maybe a CBC to check your white count for infection.
don't wait.. you'll just get sicker and that's no fun!!!

sounds like a very bad chest infection, which you should be on antibiotics to clear up, if it sounds like a seal when you cough could be bronchitis.

Why haven't you seen a doctor or gone to the ER? Any time you have colored mucous, you've got an infection. It will only get worse so see a doctor immediately.

It does sound like bronchitis, but it could also be pneumonia....I suggest you see your physician immediately! Pneumonia can be life-threatening, if left untreated
