immediatly do not smoke more than a pack.
try not to smoke before 800 a.m. for three day then smoke a maximum 1 pack whenever you need to the rest of the day, the less the better.

You really have to want to quit. Hypnosis, smoking sessation, support groups, meds ... none will do it on their own without you determining that you can and will quit. When I decided to quit, I set a date and with the help of Welbutrin, I've been smoke free for several months now. It was hard for the first week or so, but now I consider myself free from the habit. So, ask yourself if you really want to quit. If you do, you will be successful! See your doctor and he/she can really help you a lot. You'll feel better every day and hopefully won't have to drag around an E-cylinder of oxygen on a two wheeled cart when you get older. You'll be out golfing and enjoying your new found health instead!

Chantix (by prescription in the US) is truly a miracle drug. It is a nicotine-receptor blocker and takes away cravings very quickly. The cravings that do come are mild and last about 10 seconds. It's about $125 (Medicare pays 60%).
