If they did a barium swallowing evaluation and if this person is unable to swallow properly without foods and liquids going into the lungs causing aspiration pneumonia and if they signed has POA and wants no feeding tube, then that is what they do. Yes someone could try to fight it in court or by calling authorities to look into the matter and investigate the situation.

I find that hard to believe !!!!! Sounds like there are other factors ~ like the Terry Shivo case ~

Im from Maine ~ and Ive never heard of such a thing ~ especially by a dr. They took an oath to SAVE people ~ not kill them

unless they family said to do so they can not do this.
what's the rest of this story? is she dieing now and what is her reason for being in that hospital?
I'm a RN and no one can starve anyone with out some kind of reason for it but only by the family and only if she is dead or is almost dead nd then they ( the family members haft to have a court order) can they do this.
so what's the real story

call the social worker at the hospital closest to u/ and tell her/she will direct u who to call/that is big time ABUSE/ r u sure/ they do not have a feeding tube in her stomach/.and he means do not give by mouth/but if it is truly by mouth/ call authorties/ right now/ PLEASE
