PIECE OF CAKE! wHAT TO EXPECT AFTERWARD.....expect to feel sore. like you have done 2000 sit ups. and expect alot of pressure like pain just under the diaphragm.... this will pass after a few hours. The most important thing for you to remember is to not lay flat and to please get moving ASAP. You need to get BURPING to relieve that pressure feeling. I have had this surgery and I also take care of post surgery gallbladder patients. These sre the most common complaints....also expect some shoulder pain. this happens because the gas they use gets trapped up under the diaphragm and pushes on a nerve causing pain in the shoulder. this will also go away on its own. Get up and get moving is the only way to feel better.

I always tell my patients that YOU are stronger than the pain.... I did not find it that bad...I compare it to very sore muscle pain after a BIG workout. Once you get that air moving out(burping) You will begin to feel better and just be sore. Some people experience nausea/vomitting...there are meds to help with that. Each person is different , so just take your time..go by how you feel... if you feel pukey, go slow.....if you dont feel too bad..then get up and get moving . You will do great! Remember to take pain medicine also. IT IS ALWAYS AVAILABLEAT THE HOSPITAL. and you will get a prescription to go home with you.
DO you get to stay overnight? Or do you get to go home the same day? either way.. go by how you feel. If you go home the same day, please donot let them send you out before you are ready........make sure you are comfortable. Once you get home, REST,but do get up and walk around your house or yard. within a day or 2 you will be feeling FINE!

Ignore face ache he's just thinks he's funny.

I have never had a gall bladder operation though I have had three major ops.

My advice take comfort that you will feel a lot better after this type of surgery although you can expect some discomfort for a while after.

You will be in good hands of that I have no doubt. However, what I would say is when you see your surgeon before your operation ask as many questions as you think fitting. As this will help to reassure you knowing that your welfare is going to best looked after whilst in the operating theatre.

Ask about the anaesthetic, how long before you get over the effects of it and are you likely to feel sick. Tell them if you have reaction to medication or anaethestics etc.

I'm sure you will be fine and back on here and raring to go before to long. All the very best and heres to the wonders of modern medicine and surgery.

Don't forget to take your cuddly teddy for comfort...only kidding.

PS Keep your bowels frequent ........best road to recovery.

SEE YOU SOON!

You've got all the support you need! : )

Surgery used to be a big scary thing - now, they really seem to have it down. It seems that most procedures have you back at home in hours as opposed to spending a week in the hospital.

I'll bet you're up & about, feeling better than you have in a long time, sooner than you think!

Wishing you a speedy recovery!!! : )

getting a gallbladder removed is pretty standard surgery, especially if its keyhole.
Recovery is very quick and the you will feel so much better in about a week compared to how you felt before the surgery...

Gallbladder surgery has become quite routine. There is really nothing for you to worry about. I know that's easy for me to say. I always consider routine surgery as surgery being done on someone else. Have faith in your doctors and have faith that Jesus is watching over you. You will be in my prayers.

I don't have a gallbladder since 98. And I live a perfectly normal life. Just take things slow at first. And you will be yourself in no time.

Hey brother/sister, I do not know you but one thing I know is that you will come out a healthier person. This surgery is for your good and not to harm you. I am a Christian and I am assured by the fact that God says he wishes above all things that we do prosper and be IN GOOD HEALTH even as our souls prosper. I dont know your faith, but just have the belief that you're just going to take a nap, wake up and be refreshed with the one who created you, watching over you. I DECLARE THAT IT SHALL BE WELL WITH YOU. I drive away any fear that may want to reside inside you.
Heyyyy, I await a good report. God bless.

You'll do just fine. Of course you'll be sore but they'll help you with that. These days they don't usually make a large scar. They use laproscopes to do the procedure most of the time. The recovery time is much faster doing this. Good luck to you and don't worry(too much).
EEEWWW!! That answer from the troll is AWFUL.

I will pray for you today and tomorrow that you will come through your surgery well. You'll be fine. It's not good luck it's good reassurance because God loves you and will be with you through your operation.
