There is no magic number. You get them as often as your doctor feels it's necessary. I've had very sick patients who've had dozens, including every day of a hospital stay.

sorry i don't know the correct answer even though i work in a hospital. i know they give some patients them more than once a year. i would ask my doc about it if i was concerned about it. you can also call your local hospital an ask an xray tech.
