Why did God plan for his son to HAVE to be killed as a blood sacrifice atonement for original sin? Why did God put "original sin" into his plan at all?

I mean... was that REALLY the only way it had to go down? REALLY?? Did God HAVE to write Adam & Eve's failure into the playbook and then require his son to suffer and die for it?

Uh... but several people just told me that is WAS part of God's plan that Adam & Eve had to fall.

And by the way, I'm sorry I spelled it "Even" in the question. If you want to focus on that instead of answering the question, well, I won't say it's unexpected.

I'm sorry, there are just too many contradictory responses in here and too many nonsensical ones. I can make neither heads nor tails of legitimate Christian doctrine in this case so I can't choose a best answer. I hope you all choose what seems like the consensus view.

Not God's plan. But He knew it would happen!

Original sin? We are only responsible for the sin we do as an act of our own will. There will be noone in Hell because of "original sin" and, as you may know, that 'Limbo' doesn't exist - this was announced by the Holy See anly the other day (I never believed in it anyway).

Deep question. The fact is that God dwells in timeless eternity. At the same time He created the heavens and the earth, He saw and knew both you and I. He would know our decisions before we ever thought to exercise our free will to do so. For Adam and Eve, it was not God's desire that they fall, but fall they did. But this they did with their free will. However, to put a wrinkle in this subject. There are hints in the scripture that Adam actually saw Eve in her sinful state and decided to join her rather than be separated from her because of sin. In this Adam was acting as a type of Christ. And even when God is pronouncing the curse of the earth, He also prophecies the second Adam (Jesus) when He said that His foot will be bruised by Satan, but in turn, Christ will crush Satan's head. There is quite a bit in Genesis 3 to ponder.

It wasn't necessarily God's plan for Adam & Eve to fall. All human beings were created with a soul and in God's image, as recorded in Genesis.

However, he also gave them free will. We were not just puppets and God was the puppeteer. Instead, he let us make our own choices and do what we will.

I cannot safely answer why evil was created in this world, but I can imagine that maybe we couldn't fully grasp the extreme awesomeness of Heaven without feeling the opposite of that through the pain, suffering and death caused by sin..

Even through this original sin and the fall of man, God still had a plan to bring everyone to His Eternal Kingdom and allow them to experience this perfect bliss. This is why he sent his son to live a perfect life, being true God and true man, and allowed him to suffer and die. Christ died being sinless and therefore he could intercede for us, being true God and true man.

We don't know why God chose to do things the way he did, but I imagine that's a question that will be answered when we enter the Heavenly Kingdom. Even though Adam & Eve ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, God did not give them ALL knowledge of the workings of his Divine Mind. I suppose he had his reasons for it.

God saw that his creation was good says genesis. in fact, it was perfect life on a perfect blessed earth.
Disobedience was never a part of god's plans. Jesus describes Satan as a manslayer at John 8 v 44, and the father ( originator, producer, sire, ) of the lie.
So it was not god's doing.
Spanner in the works was a possibility ,and maybe god would have forseen the possibility ,( especially if satan had already showed a proud , selfish, rebellious streak before the creation of the physiacal realms. )
God will by his kingdom arrangement restore the earth to how it was before.
when god saw that the earth was ruined at the time of Noah he felt hurt because things had turned out so bad.
The angels forsaking their original position was certainly not with god's direction and approval.

OK let us look at what came first and second and so forth, The Heavens and the Earth came way before man so I could assume so did the angels. There for that gives the knowledge that yes God is a all known God but he probably gave something to Adam and Eve just like he gave us which was CHOICE & FREE WILL. Because of choice and free will they would of had Bliss on Earth and Earth would have been called the Garden Of Eden but Satan came into play and all was lost after that, They ate from the tree of Life/ Knowledge/ once that happened they wore born into sin and everybody there after. Sin only came after GOD found out that because we are imperfect that we will make the wrong choices and be influenced by someone called Satan. I believe that is when the chess game began between GOD and Satan, That is when they started fighting for souls, because if very soon after look at what happend to JOB, that was like a game but to a human being called JOB none of it was funny. I have thought long and hard about this question and just was too scared to ask, fearing that I was questioning GOD, I am glad someone had the b@lls to ask, Thank you I hope that I could of helped but only he knows his reason for why it is what it is. You will get a star from me.

Well my friend, you already know my opinion on Adam and Eve and where that story comes from.

For those who don't, check this out:

Anyway, most of the people answering this question are looking at it from the wrong end of the microscope.

How did the story of Adam and Eve survive amungst the many competing creation stories that have ever existed? It survived because the people who originated the story survived. How does the story fit into other stories from the bible, especially the New Testament. The answer is very simply that these were vastly different people in a vastly different time.

Who came up with these stories and what were they about? Who attributed these characteristics to the various characters in the stories, and why?

There is much to be learned from the bible, not in the sense of it being a accurate depiction of the history of the Universe, but in a sense of the cultural history of the people who laid the groundwork for modern civilization.

If the Olmec had a written history on the same scale of the early Hebrews (or whoever), we wouldn't care because it wasn't about us. Certain books of the Old Testament, however, are about us. I don't mean they are direct genetic ancestors, but they are our cultural ancestors. The Agricultural Revolution baby! Quite possibly the event with the greatest impact in human history, yet few realize the significance and the connection to the predominant creation myth we have today.

It was never in God's plan for Adam and Eve to fall into sin. God however, saw the possibility of it happening because He is omniscient. He made provisions for it by preparing Jesus to be the Savior should it happen. But that would be cruelty on Gods part to make it happen. If God made it happen, how can we blame Satan? If God made it happen, how come God was sadden by the sins of mankind? Read Genesis 6:1--8.

If some people have said that it was part of God's plan for Adam & Eve to fall, then they were mistaken. God's plan was for mankind to dwell in communion with Him in Paradise (The Garden of Eden) forever. God wanted fellowship. However, God did not want robots for the same reason we don't want friends simply because they are required to be our friends. So God gave Adam & Eve a choice, and they are the ones who chose to plunge humanity into sin. Sin originated with Adam not with God. God then had a plan to save man because He loved them so much.

How would any of us be here if they had not taken of the fruit? They didn't know how to create life they were as little children before taking the fruit. Only after they had taken of the fruit did they even know they were naked. It had to happen for all of us to be here. How could we grow and learn without making mistakes? We make mistakes to grow, learn and become better people. If they had never they would have never knew the difference between what is good and what is bad they would have stayed there forever never growing, never having children all because of their innocence. Chirst had agreed to pay for the worlds sins long before Adam and Eve fell. There had to be savior for the world so that we may be with God when we die. I'm not saying this all has to make sense i believe we will not understand everything till after we die. This is just what i have always been told.

To begin to understand the fall and the Atonement, you must first gain an understanding of why we're on this earth. Your questions are too complex to answer without that basis so I'll just focus on the purpose of earth life.

Prior to birth, we lived as spirit children of a Heavenly Father. In the interest of our continued growth and development we needed to be sent away to school to gain a better understanding of what happens when people make both good and bad decisions.

You see, it's easy to tell people not to lie and steal, and to treat others as you'd want to be treated, but for them to really understand these principles of happiness, it's useful to see what happens when people either honor these principles or they don't, such as when trust is lost in a relationship, or when people don't respect other people's property.

On earth justice is frequently postponed in order for us to see the natural result of wickedness and righteousness.

People don't like to read long answers on this forum so I won't go into the fall and the atonement now other than to say that the fall allowed opposition to be voluntarily brought into the world and the atonement allowed for perfect justice to be combined with perfect mercy to bring us back into God's presence.

Another common misconception is that Adam and Eve are to blame for some reason. They are actually extremely righteous people who made choices that allowed God's plan to unfold.

You may wonder why I claim to know these things. I wouldn't except for the fact that the Church of Jesus Christ was restored to earth in the 19th century, complete with prophets and apostles. Through continuing revelation from God, many of these things have been made clear.

Take a look at some of the videos and other resources available on the web page I note as my source.
