I doesn't have to be made from glass but just so it's easy and not expensive.

Also, I'm having a '70's themed party, any ideas on food and decorations???

Well, the cheapest (tho it wouldn't work as well) is to glue shiny sequins on a Styrofoam ball. Otherwise you would need to glue small mirrors on a ball. Depending on your budget, you might see if a local rental company has one to rent or if someone like WalMart might have one in the decorations section

There is no way to make a disco ball. Remember it has to spin and also be lighted. If your budget can afford it, you can get the whole set up at ....http://www.StumpsProm.com
As for other decorations, Party City has a whole section with the disco theme, including John Travolta.

i threw a disco party a couple years ago. we ending up buying a disco ball but for other decorations we got pretty creative we took old compact discs that we never used and hung them from the ceiling with pushpin and ribbons. also we had saturday night fever playing on the tv in the background. we also took alumninum foil and cut shapes out like stars and what not and pasted them to the walls. finally to top it off we had a game of twister going all night too. it was a blast; hope that helps

we bought a styroform ball and wrapped it in glitter wrapping paper. Cost $4.00 .
Foudue is a must at 70's party
Pull out old dishes for serving .
Lava lamps
