As long as you have the correct fitting and regulator you should be able to do this no problem. I'd probably get a professional to do it though since you are dealing with highly flammable gas.

If you are asking if it is possible to hook up a 500 gallon propane tank to a gas grill or BBQ, the answer should be yes, as long as you have the right fitting to attach between the grill and the tank. The smaller tanks are used for grills mainly because they are portable and can be easily refilled at a nearby propane dealer.

However, I'm not sure about the legal ramifications in Missouri. You will have to check with local city or state regulations for outdoor grills and the proper hookup for both and indoor and outdoor gas line.

They may tell you that the tank can only be hooked up to ONE stove at a time, meaning you could not simply put a T junction and have the gas coming out in two places.

Or they may tell you that local regulations prevent tanks larger than X gallons from being used with outdoor grills.

It is the outlet pressure that must match and not the size of the tank. Your are probably ok as is but, at the most, you will need a simple pressure regulator available at your gas supplier.
