There are many types of carbohydrates. Carbohydrates in general are an essential part of a healthy and balanced diet. Carbohydrates by themselves neither increase height nor 'stop' height. Height is largely determined by the length of 'long' bones such as the legs. The deveopment of bones is complex but certainly requires the direct participation of calcium with carbohydrates playing only a peripheral role in general health rather than bone formation per se. A person's adult height may be approximated by averaging the height of the parents while adjusting for an individual's sex (the mother's height influences a girl's height a bit more than her father's for example). Height is multi-factorial and although genetics play a role the genetics are complex and incompletely understood. Environment, diet, physical activity, and other variables are important as well. Illness, injury, and disease may influence height. Premature or delayed puberty may influence height. There are readily accessible 'normograms' on-line for determining the percentile ranking of an individual's height, weight, and body mass index based upon age and sex.

carbohydrates are in most everything we eat, with meat, butter, cream, solid protein, cheese being the lowest form,no it will not stop your height, however if you eat to many carbs(sugar, pasta, bread, flour, cereal etc)it will store on your body as fat,The low carb diets are hoop-la,because the minute you put carbs back into your mouth you may have lost 10 pounds, but it will be back on you in 2 days.Everything in moderation.
